If not mentioned in the will, her standing to receive a portion of the estate will depend upon her LEGAL relationship with the decedent, not her genetic one.

If there has been an acknowledged father-daughter relationship, that legal relationship will survive any revelation that they're not genetically related (i.e., that Mom stepped out on him).

If she is mentioned in the will, she's all set and you won't be able to overturn their lifelong father-daughter relationship and get her disinherited based on lack of genetic relation.

Unfortunately, theres not a whole lot you can do since your father in law has listed her in his will as child or not. You would have to go tocourt to challenge the will itself and all whose listed on it. This is not easy since he would be dead at the time and its in his wishes and his money. This would take time and lots of money so would it really be worth it just because you dont want her to receive anything. You would probably have to prove he was not in his right mind when he wrote his will including some people that you feel shouldnt be in it. Not easy. Good luck and Happy Holiday
