14, but there are strict rules on how many hours, how late, what sort of work, etc. The rules ease off a lot at 16, and are completely gone at 18.

I don't know what country you're in, but in the US, the minimum legal working age is 14. In the ages between 14 and 18, you will need working papers, however, that are provided by your school on request, which will need to be filled out to be able to work.

You will need to check with the individual places of employment, however, for their specific preferences on age. For instance, they might want a minimum age of 16 or 17 to be able to operate the cash register. I suggest you find out from the employer in person or on the phone.

the best bet is to go to the store and ask, different stores have different policy, but most job, its 16
