Do they only find out if you get into trouble while in the other state? In other words, can you just take your chances of traveling without permission?

Unless they have you on some kind of monitoring device, then it's mainly down to if they catch you. If they had reason to believe you went out of state, they might be able to subpoena credit card or bank statements.

a P.O. will report you to law enforcement for not making a scheduled appointment, which may lead to an APB (all points bulletin). As far as "courts" finding you if you have misdemeanor warrants you can run until you get caught on something else. A more serious felony charge could bring out the U.S. Marshall's to look for your a**!!!

Is that a slave bracelet on your ankle?
Otherwise it doesn't matter how they find out (friends, relatives, victims) you are going back buster.

Actually I knew a guy that wore his bracelet to Las Vegas. Nobody noticed. I guess if you're not counting cards or something similar, they don't care.

That is the usual way but it isn't a good chance to take. For the sake of a visit, so much is gambled.
