Your neighbor Jack, age 50, works for DPS, a delivery company in Phoenix. Recently he was told that DPS was downsizing. Workers under the age of 55 were given help writing their resume, finding new jobs and a buyout equivalent to 3 months salary to help until they find work. Workers 55 and older were asked to take a one time bonus check of $1000 and asked to sign away their right to sue the company for any reason. In your perception, what is happening here? If you were 55, would you take the $1000 and sign the agreement?

Who agrees with that new law that arnold schwarzenegger passed in the public schools?
There is a law out there that was just signed and goes into effect Jan. First 2008. This is not a joke.

But in short the bill is this: It allows any student in the california public school system to enter the bathroom and locker rooms of the opposite sex because they perceive themselves to be the opposite sex or they feel they relate better to the opposite sex.

MEANING: If a BOY feels he is a GIRL or relates better to girls then he can use their bathrooms and locker rooms.
It's sounds crazy but its true.

O K here is the skinny.
I am currently in the middle of a custody dipute. My childs father wants to pick him up from daycare and keep him for 4 days but i am not agreeing to it. I say he can pick him up and take him to dinner and bring him back home that same day. If he does indeed go against what i feel is in the best interest of the child being that there is not judgement render in my case because it is fairly new wouldn't that be kidnapping or abduction. The court has not ordered anything yet?
I have heard that the cops wont get involved what shoudl i do in the event that this happens?

The government protect our TEFL teachers and withdraw them all from the Sudan?

As a background, the children were to name a teddy bear, and although Ms. Gibbons had elected to call it Farsi, the children wanted Muhammed. Was she right in supporting the childrens' choice? Surely she could not have foreseen the fall out that this would cause, having not been fully briefed in religous law?

Does anybody know if it's legel to write a release of liability on the back of a check? So if the check was signed to be cashed then that means you are also agreeing to release liability. Or is this some sorta trickery??

Being an Indian,I am not ashamed to admit the blunt truth that ,our country has lost its national character.The society has gone corrupt.Corruption is rampant.More or less every individual in this country is corrupt.Corruption is so deep that we arent ashamed when caught.Every Government Department is corrupt.The Defence is corrupt.Judiciary,Bereaucracy,Legislature....every feild is corrupt.For a price you can get anything done in this wretched country.The root of corruption lies in our mind.I agree there are a miniscule few who are the silver lining but their number is so small that it hardly counts.Indians are the lowest of the low in this world.Corruption here is mind boggling.What can be done to reverse this.I dont find any solutions.Any suggestions.Only honest people should answer please.

The violation dates are the same only on the first it has original charge felonly and final charge misdemeanor, as well as disposition guilty. On the second it has final charge felony and disposition waived. What does that mean waived? This just came in the mail. Does this look like 2 different violations on the same day (which would be incorrect)?

I had this guy on the internet who I thought was a really great friend. We had known each other somewhat for about a year but never really talked until these past few months. We talked on mic and on the phone and emailed. He came into a bind stating his internet was going to be shut off and a utility bill because his retirement money never came that week. I of course felt bad and offered to loan him $500. He said no no but I insisted just once and he jumped on it. I sent cash via western union from the U.S where I live over to him in the U.K where he lives. He stated in an email and many of our yahoo conversations and on the phone that he would pay me back in a few weeks. A MONTH has passed and now he stated by Dec. 14th he'd pay me back. I have been sending emails because I haven't heard from him lately and I found out he's just deleting them without reading them. (I have his email password.)
How can I get my money back, any legal action when its a different country? NO BS pls

I was reading something and I saw a loop hole at our system say I kill someone and I pleaded not guilty and say(pretend) I have mental "issues" and so they sent me to an asylum and awarded me a seriouis amount of cash(y'know for arresting a mentally handicapped person), since I have the money and I am only pretending to be sick I could be out of the asylum with cash and totally get away from murder??? what do you think???

My mother had someone come to her house with no id and give her a supposed document from court from a collection agent becuz she owes them 9000 dollars but they want her to make these huge payments every month and sign away her florida statue right that says they cant take her house away. I thourght court papers or hearing papers were mailed not delivered and if they are delivered isnt that normally done by a sheriff? Can they make her do this ??

This guy looked like he was 17 or 18 outside of 7-11 and asked me to buy him some smokes. I am a smoker so my understanding of his situation may have led to my negligent judgement. Do you think it is was wrong of me, the legal age in NY, Long Island (Suffolk Co.) is 19 but in Virginia they sell them to 18 year olds, so I didn't feel like I was doing anything against the law considering it a foolish law to have different regulations in different states because of profit reasons.

I was under the impression that a person had to be missing for 5 or 7 years BEFORE they could be declared 'dead'. I understand the circumstances, but shouldn't the law be the same for everyone? Nothing has been found as far as I know, so who is to say, that he didn't disappear for some unknown reason? People do disappear everyday for their own reasons.

I am by no means saying the man is alive or hiding. I personally believe that he is dead. I just want to know how/why he could be declared dead when other's have to wait the time out...

When i bought my laptop in Berlin, I also bought an insurance for it. It covers 75% of liability upon stealing, now my laptop is stolen and the insurance company says that it was my fault and they will not pay me. Now how can i file a case against this insurance company in Germany, by the way I am not a german national and i speak very little german language.

And ya i already filed a police complain on the same day laptop was stolen and they filed it as a "stealing" and the insurance company do not consider it as stealing but my negligence and refuses to pay me.

my understanding is anything that people might get offended like.. racist, sexist comments..

or what is YOUR understanding of offensive language?
and the target is censoring it from everyone in general, just to be fair (i'm not for or against it atm, still chewing on it..)

i think it's to do with ethics.. but then by censoring language that could be offensive could potentially be more offensive to the person that was going to be offended? if that makes any sense?

i dunno.. this could be a discussion type thing? but then we're going to need evidence to back it up rather than just drawing out of thin air.

also, not completely unrelating but following on the politically correct thread, when they tried banning christmas coz it could offend other religions, the "other religions" got offended coz they didn't take offense from christmas.
then they tried to change "baa baa black sheep" to "baa baa happy sheep", i think people woul get even more offended that they even thought of the link!!

There are posts that are against TOS. The accounts of those members are not suspended but they delete the accounts of innocent people.
Don't tell me that is because is a private company I know that. A private company and higher authorities will not allow those things to happens, if this is allowed is because some people at a lower level is allowing is, should I say customer care representative? If that person is not doing his/her job Yahoo can "delete" that employee too.
If there is any employee in Yahoo Customer Care who is condoning posts that are against TOS? Because they still there, no suspension of account.

Is there is any way to know who is the Customer care Representative responsible to check for those posts, if they are supposed to do it? I think that is the person responsible, maybe friends of those posters.
