In our foolish state of Massachusetts, a proposal has been made to make spaning your child a crime. First off, how is it the government's business how I discipline my child, Second, imagine if this went through how many kids that are pissed at their parents will call 911, repoting their parents. As if the child protective services is not overwhelmed, understaffed and ineffective enough.
I was spanked when I was bad as a child, and hey, I am ok. Sure, there are cases of parents taking a spanking too far, but why would the majority have to suffer for the minority?

Looking for your thoughts on what life will be like as a parent trying to discipline their children if this law goes into effect? Also, do you see this issue as a waste of the legislatures time when their are far more important issues to be resolved?

I am 43 years old, married with 3 kids. I became very ill from my past employment with a lung disease in 2004. I have been in a workmans compensation since my illness. I have filed for disability and was turned down. I have taken matters into my own hands and went back to school. Trying to make ends meet are impossible, I know get a job. I wished i could but with my health issues if iwent back to work I could not afford my doctors care or make enough to support my family. This is why I have returned to school to get a degree in buissness. If there is anyone that would like to contribute to my cause to better my families ability to survive please contact me. This is not a scam it is a desperate cry for help. It is sad that the American Government has bigger needs then our own people. If they would invest more in our own people then other countries i could find help there. Thank-You for reading this and god Bless

News of the meeting (pj's & Forensic lab) comes as the McCanns, from Rothley, came under attack from the lawyer of Robert Murat, a suspect in the case.
Francisco Pagarete (lawyer for local odd ball Murat) said Mr and Mrs McCann "deserve to be cursed" for leaving their children alone.
In an interview with the Portuguese newspaper 24 Horas, he said: "What they deserve is for somebody to curse them, to make them pay for having left three children unprotected.
"On top of it all, they have bank accounts which are stuffed full," he said.
Mr Pagarete said as the case drags on, Mr Murat, his mother and girlfriend are paying a financial price.
"[They] see their names daily dragged through the mud and they are on the verge of bankruptcy."

Do you think Murat is not paying lawyer fees & this has driven the lawyer to spew such vitriol about the McCanns? Is it not "curse" enought that they have lost their darling daughter through a mistake? The man is deranged ! Most unprofessional.

In this and other countries are is by law a minimum wage. why has nobody ever thought of a maximum wage. May this could get rid of some of the fatcats and loungers? Anyone who is sacked for god reason and anyone who resign suddenly should not be given a 'payoff' or pension. If you earn over a said amount you sort out out your own pension.

Should national security issues be outside the realm of ethics and differentiated from the issues that arise concerning privacy in a commercial setting such as your place of employment?

Whats the point of telling US citizens they can't have certain weapons? Gun laws don't protect anyone. If a criminal wants to kill someone with a machine gun, then no law can stop him. He will do it anyways, regardless of what the law says. Gun laws only keep certain guns out of the hands of people who wouldn't misuse them anyways. So whats the point?

I can't imagine a British lawyer for a suspect in a crime being allowed to make such inflamatory remarks about another suspect publicly, can you? I can certainly imagine that a suspect might say such a thing, but surely a lawyer should be cautioning against such remarks not making them!!!

Am I missing something? Perhaps I just don't understand the Portuguese legal system...

I know what I did was wrong and if someone can give me some advice without passing judgement I would greatly appreciate it. 10 point for best answer. I have wriiten three bad checks this summer and have now been in the financial situation to pay them off...but I am scared. I have not heard from the creditors in months and I am afraid of going to jail. How do I find out if I have a warrant out for my arrest? Should I just mail the payment without contacting them, would that keep me from being arrested? Should I contact them first, or will that cause them to have me arrested? I am very scared of going to jail over bad checks and just want to pay them off...what should I do? What is the best thing to do to avoid going to jail or being arrested? If I do have a warrant for bad checks is there any way I can resolve this matter without being taken into custody or going to jail? PLEASE let me know!! Thanks in advance.

My girlfriend and I have the same boss but we work at different companies of his. The other day my girlfriend got a call from the boss asking her if I have a drug problem. I experimented a little when I was younger but thats it. He says he found a razor blade after I left work with cocaine residue on it. Now my boss is a known drug user. He told everyone I work with that I use drugs and steal from him. One of my co-workers even came up to me and said watch out he heard the boss was trying to get me. Now my co-workers look at me funny and I know they are talking behind my back. Is this slander? And what should I do, I was thinking about calling a lawyer.

Its sounds stupid, but I'm having a recurring dreams about joyriding in a car for like 2 blocks. Then 50 years later I'm in court for it they are talking about statutes of 70 years...and all I need to do is prove them wrong. They keep asking me, "well what is it then?" and I can never think of the answer. So I tried looking it up to no avail

A hotel I know of is having a huge problem. The floorboards are all rotten from a water leak that was not fixed. We don't know if there is additional water down there. Then another pipe leaks into it now, the sewage. Fumes are all through the lobby, and come up the grates around the outside of the lobby. The workers are concerned, and one is pregnant. The owners only responce to this is to try and sell the hotel, they dont' want to spend the money to fix it. I want to inform someone to come and test the hotel. At this point no one knows how harmful the sewage fumes are or if they have or can become toxic. I can seem to find nothing on where to report this, and am just getting lost on government webpages. Any recommendations?

You all see those advertisements and posters put up near construction zones and public walls and all that...
Well I saw this awesome poster in a sidewalk tunnel and am really tempted to take it.
Yes I know it's no easy feat taking the posters off, but assuming I can, is it legal?

I always thought it would be legal... but my friend suggests otherwise.

Thanks.

I'm talking about H.R. 1955: Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act of 2007. It's also known as the thoughtcrime bill. Please look it up, it's horrifying. They can prosecute you for being anything from being a quaker and not saluting the flag at school to writing letters to your governer to belonging to a small non-profit animal rights group, to posting something on the internet. It's in direct violation of our 14th amendment and our 1st amendment. Since we all get no say in this(it just got passed over to the senate HR passed it 404 to 6), what can a citizen do? only six of our elected officials said no!!!!!!!
