I know what I did was wrong and if someone can give me some advice without passing judgement I would greatly appreciate it. 10 point for best answer. I have wriiten three bad checks this summer and have now been in the financial situation to pay them off...but I am scared. I have not heard from the creditors in months and I am afraid of going to jail. How do I find out if I have a warrant out for my arrest? Should I just mail the payment without contacting them, would that keep me from being arrested? Should I contact them first, or will that cause them to have me arrested? I am very scared of going to jail over bad checks and just want to pay them off...what should I do? What is the best thing to do to avoid going to jail or being arrested? If I do have a warrant for bad checks is there any way I can resolve this matter without being taken into custody or going to jail? PLEASE let me know!! Thanks in advance.

The checks I wrote were on my own account and I did not have money to cover it. And since it was so long ago, I am afraid I can be arrested for it.

the person stating just pay the bills and you will be ok does not know what they are talking about.i may have missed about how much time has passed since the checks were written.if it has been a while then there will be a warrant for each check.paying the checks off does not make it go away.the warrants are for writing the checks in the first place.
if these were for bills then you may have a way out.call each place and ask if they have already turned them over to the da's officer.if yes then it means there are warrants.if they say no then you can breathe easy and can just pay for the checks. this may require you to put up a large deposit for each one.
the only way for you to find out about the warrants is to go to the station in person.you have to go yourself because they will not tell anyone else.when you go you can also only ask about yourself.

Perhaps taking out a loan, pay off your debts, then make affordable monthly payments to pay off the loan. I got a 2000 dollar loan at my local bank for about 180 a month w having an average credit score.

If by "bad check" you mean one on your own account but there was not enough money to cash it, you are in not trouble. People do it all the time , and you are only charge a fee for the extra paperwork it causes
If you wrote a "bad check" on an account that was not yours, forging someones signature it is fraud and you should talk to a lawyer.

Lots of people in the UK do this every month, it only means extra bank charges you will have to pay - pay what you owe and all will be fine.

Just pay the bills you owe as of now and everything should be fine.
