In this and other countries are is by law a minimum wage. why has nobody ever thought of a maximum wage. May this could get rid of some of the fatcats and loungers? Anyone who is sacked for god reason and anyone who resign suddenly should not be given a 'payoff' or pension. If you earn over a said amount you sort out out your own pension.

We will never see a maximum wage in a million years. The rich get richer and the poor suffer. I agree that the level of income for too many people is immorally high and I believe that a more structured tax deduction method should be introduced with a sliding level based upon each £10K increment in excess of £50K pa. Those earning in excess of £200K pa should be taxed at the rate of 60%. In addition the Revenue should close all tax loopholes for the rich for it is they who take advantage of tax evasion schemes that are not available to ordinary people. To assist new training schemes for footballers, soccer players earning high incomes should be allowed tax advantages if they donate part of their incomes to a " training scheme" and this would be deducted from their gross income before tax is payable.

Some years ago the high rate of tax in the UK meant that the high earners had very little benefit from the majority of their salary. They left the country and took their talents with them - known as 'the brain drain'. We lost top scientists and mathematicians, along with the cream from every profession that had transferable skills. They were snapped up by the USA and other countries where the rewards were unlimited and tax was low. Cap salaries in one country and those that can will move to another that doesn't have such ideals. Its all or nothing and the chance of having a world-wide agreement on anything has proved impossible in the past.

i do no longer see a reason to have a maximum salary. people can earn what they like, the minimal salary became into needed so as to end people being exploited and enable workers to furnish for his or her oftentimes happening needs. And confident I do think of it is going to be raised. for many people, incomes minimal salary is little extra suitable than being on the dole. elevating the minimal salary might make artwork pay. agencies might only ought to handle to pay for it and take a cut back of their revenue. I do sense that some people - at the same time with MPs and Footballers - are hugely overpaid although . . .

Why have a maximum wage? It will discourage people who reach that limit. What's the point in bothering to try harder if you are on the limit.

Last time I looked everyone has to sort out their own pension unless you're a civil servant who gets a free cast iron guaranteed one. whilst the rest of us have had our pension funds raided by those really nice tax people urged on by Gorgon Brown.

That's ridiculous. If you start your own business and take all the risks that go with it and end up making a success of it, then why shouldn't you be rewarded with a large salary. It's not luck that these people earn what they do. It's about taking risks and educating yourself. Anyone who has a gripe about it is obviously too lazy to get off their ar$e and make a success of themselves choosing to slag off those who do.

What an excellent idea. Also make sure it is possible to sack policemen, instead of waiting in vain for them to resign when their men shoot members of the public.
