It isn't. You fail to give even a single example.

If anything, the government picks apart the Constitution when making new laws. However, the NORM is to create a law using existing guidelines and wait and see if a situation comes up that challenges the law. Ex: The seat belt laws. Yes studies show they do save lives, but another study shows they don't keep you from getting crippled. Is it a violation of freedom of choice? Why did they not just pass a law requiring auto makers to install automatic seat belts in ALL motor vehicles. Until someone challenges the law at a high level-we will never really know if it is a violation of rights or not.
My argument is that the government does not have the right to tell me to strap 2000 lbs of steel, wire and fiberglass to my butt for my SAFETY.

This has been going on for years now. This is not a recent phenomenom. Congress has always passed laws that cirumvented the Constitution, but a majority of those laws were overturned by the US Supreme court when they were reviewed. There is nothing new here. That is why We have Judicial Review. That is why there are 3 branches of Government. The doctrine of Jucidial Review, btw, is a Judicially created doctrine and has lasted for years. It keeps congress and the President in check- remember Watergate. Remember UNITED STATES V. NIXON- guess a lot of people forget about these cases. Checks and balances- that is what it is.

Well, you don't say for which country, but the governments of most countries have done this from time to time. Often the reason is that is suits a political purpose at the time, later they are often fixed.. Some times laws are not changed even when they are obviously violating the rights and freedoms of the citizens. It is a very sad and scary state of affairs.
A teacher of mine use to say "no one is safe while the parliament is in session, I don't care what the ink on the paper says" - her saying is proving true for my fellow Canadians and sadly even more true for my American neighbours!
I'm not sure why, but I'm glad others are aware. Hopefully together we can protect ourselves!

Um, why has it become the norm for people who disagree with the current government to make these sorts of silly claims?
I am no fan of the democrats currently running the legislature, but I don't claim they "ignore the Constitution" when writing laws.

If congress passes a law that ignores the constitution, it will get dismissed by the supreme court. That is what balance of powers is for.

Because the majority of the elected officials that are given the rains of this country Hate God.
They hate God because if they admit that God is real then they must also admit they are sinners and will face jugment for all the horible things they have done.
And because they hate God they hate the Constitution because it gets its authority from God, and they want to destroy this nation because it was founded by Godly men and women.

Because they do what they want and we no longer live in a democracy...
It seems that the trend is for them to do what they want and it is up to the individual to challenge it. the problem is, most individuals won't challenge things for lack of money (for attorneys) or lack of fortitude....
