California Statue of Limitations Law?
A defendant claims she was attempting to shoot over the head of her boyfriend to scare him. She hit him in the head, and he remained in a coma for 11 years. He ultimately succumbed to the gunshot injury. Would she be tried for murder, manslaughter, both, or neither if it was past the statute of limitations for the crime.

My husband had to appear in Small Claims Court for a credit card debt in RI, the lawyer for the collection agency was unprepared and received a contiuance until February 11th, 2008. We are moving to FL in the beginning of February, what do we do? I know not showing up is a bad error but if we live 12 states away it does not make sense to fly up here over a $1000 "debt". Thanks for the assistance!!

My husband and I just moved from Missouri to Kentucky. He is a full time student at UK. I'm working full time. My mom told me that after living in Missouri for a year, you have to change your driver's license to Missouri unless you are a full time student. Does the same work in Kentucky? Even if my husband is a student, but I'm not? Serious answers only please!

Heck I don't know if I even have the right "Yahoo" catagory- but anyway maybe someone could direct me in the right direction. Our Godson came out to visit early spring and now his deadbeat parents dont want him back (and he doesn't want to go back-which I dont blame him).
His dad is a convicted sexual predator and his mother is pretty much worthless (they are divorced). His dad pays child support to his mother (which we never see).
Well now that he doesn't want to go back, I want the support the to feed this teenager that eats like a horse. Problem is we live in California and his "parents" live in another state.

Anybody know if its within our rights to go after the child support? We even put him in school out here!

I have had a VERY unprofessional and unpleasant experience with a well known Life Insurance company. I had State Insurance Administration intervene the situation and re-instate my policy.

This whole process put me through a lot of hassle. All the Life insurance Company is saying that "It was an administrative mistake and we have re-instated your policy." Having gone through the agony, I don't thing just "sorry" is enough.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Here's the skinny: Federal Law says you must be 18 to purchase .22lr ammunition, your local Wal-Mart says you have to be 21 for them to sell it to you. Some locations make you be 19 to buy tobacco (I don't smoke, but thought it odd the sign said 19). Is it legal for them to age-discriminate like this?

As I see it, they're denying my lawfully afforded ability to purchase ammunition (again, don't care about the tobacco, that was to show they do it in other areas of the store).

Can the death of four firemen, reportedly, trying to resuce immigrant workers sleeping in a warehouse in Worcester be directly attributed to the governments policy on immigration/migrantion Could they be charged with corporate negligence by deliberately and knowlingly abandoning safe practices on movement of people thus causing reckless endangerment to life of foreign nationals in Britain?

If so how could we prosecute or develop a class action?

beyond a shadow of a doubt you had done good time for a crime you did not commit. The crime entailed entrapment was not to be considered but there must be a certain motive which you did not have. Therefore innocence. Would you think there was a possibility OJ Simpson could be innocent.

You will be told the next time you come to court what your sentence will be, even though you will not be sentenced until you come again. My question is supose he finds out that he will be sentenced to jail and commits another crime. Will I lose the bail money that I put up for him? I don't know why they don't wait until he is sentenced and then just take him to jail. I won't have to pay all the bail money in that case, right?
