Sure can! Actually a person can be fired for almost any reason if the emplyer documents their reasoning behind doing so.

Racial and ethic slurs or comments will get a person fired very quickly, even if they have a contract that usually is a serious enough offense to breach it.

Technically the employee in question could get fired. The company policy and how its applied would dictate what happens.

That is unacceptable in public or the workplace, my husband makes it clear that racial slurs, slurs about men or women or homosexuals, etc is automatic cause for immediate dismissal, when he hires someone.

yes they can - more than likely as soon as it happens they will be fired. the company will not take the risk of having a racial lawsuit against them.

most companies have polciys in effect to handle this..if it was isolated and a 1st time offense a warning or probabtion is usually the course.....

Yep. And if they make it towards someone specifically...they can also be sued. If they make it with the connotation of violence they can also be arrested.
