I make videos with pictures, and my mom wants me to make an advertisement for her ranching business the same way. If I purchase the song online and download it, is it infringement of copyright laws to then use it in this way?

The family of a college student who was kidnapped and killed by a convicted rapist six months after his release from prison has reached a $300,000 settlement with the state of Minnesota.

The family had taken steps to seek more than $1 million in damages in a wrongful death lawsuit, arguing that state authorities were partly responsible for Dru Sjodin's death. A state Department of Corrections psychologist had decided against recommending her killer for civil commitment as he finished serving a 23-year sentence for stabbing and trying to abduct a woman.

Do you agree the state should be held responsible? I do!

I recently bought an online game account for over a bit over $400. With paypal, if your experience a problem with the seller within 45 days you are entitled to a refund. Now, 45 days have passes and no problem happened until day 46. I have filed for a refund but was declined because it was passed day 46. Is there any way I can get my money back? Can I contact his local police station and possibly prosecute him? ? ? Please respond to this, thankyou very much in advance.

My child will be 18 in less than a month. He was residing with his father, however, for the past 3 weeks he has been living with a friend because he and his father are coming to fisticuffs. I live in another state. My son is in his senior year in high school and would like to finish at his current school.

I am currently paying child support in excess of $700 per month but my ex isn't supporting our son in any way. I have found an apartment for my son to live in and am willing to pay his rent/expenses until he graduates. I cannot do this while I'm paying child support.

Should I file a motion for change of custody (we have joint custody now) or a motion to terminate child support? Can I ask the court to have my ex pay some sort of child support to help cover our son's expenses.

I cannot afford an attorney and will be doing this pro se. Thanks for any answers.

My father moved down to Arkansas for work and put some stuff in a storage locker. He called me today and told me he was a month behind and when he called the place to arrange payment , they told him it had been auctioned off. Don't they have to provide some kind of letter informing him of this sale and also place an ad in the legals? What could his course of action be. He lost all his furniture and me and my brothers baby pictures.

My wife has been trying to vounteer with a hospital for a month now. She went in to do the 6 hour intro meeting. The 1st 2 hours were for her but the last 4 hours were all about benifits and vacation packages that didn't even apply to her. She informed this 3rd rate hospital about all the time they waisted of hers and how they should have given her a hospital walk through in a writen letter. Now they are calling her a racist and not allowing her to volunteer at the hospital. She is from California & San fancisco. She strongly dislikes ignorent, lazy, people, who waist other peoples time and money but she is not racist. She knows the facts on many issues but what are the facts in this issue? She purchased scrubs to go volunteer and spent 6 hours on this interview along with getting her hopes up just to knock her down. Is there any legal action that we can take against this hospital?

we've been writing back and forth for about 2 months, and in his most recent letter, he asked me for money. not alot of money, about $100, but he said $50/ $75 would be ok. he said that this was because he has no one else to ask, and that there is no way to earn any money in the prison, and that sometimes he had to sell his main course of lunch to pay for a stamp. anyway, he wants the money so that he can celebrate thanks giving, and other years he has missed out when the others have enjoyed themselves. the money doesn't go directly to him, its used as sort of currency so that he can buy things from the store. watcha all think? should i give it to him or not?
please avoid the "if he's there he doesn't deserve any luxeries" etc, everyone deserves a second chance and everyone needs a friend. thanks guys.xxx

My father recently became seriously ill from our apartment complex negilgence. The complex sprayed chemicals and painted the downstairs apartment below my father's apartment. They did not fumigate or open any windows after doing this. As a result, these fumes came through our ventilation late at night and sickened my father. He is a heart patient with chronic lung disease. This aggraveted his condition and has put him in the hospital. Do we have a case against this complex and what kind of attorney handles these matters?

While at my sister-in-law's wedding in CA, my dog's escaped my yard and were picked up by Animal Control. We had recently moved to Copperas Cove from San Antonio, so I didn't know the Local Laws. As soon as we returned , I went to the pound and bailed them out. I paid $70 in impound fees. They informed me I also needed a rabies certificate and city licenses within 72hours. Since we had moved I had no idea where their rabies certificates were, but it was almost time again, so I rushed them to the vet and got them their shots- $24, then went and got them licensed for Copperas Cove- $2 and bought an invisible fence system to keep them in from now on $180.
Now , I have just received a SUMMONS to COURT on 2 counts of "Domestic Pet at Large" and 2 counts of "No City License" . It says they are going to issue a warrant for my arrest! I don't understand. I did what I was supposed to do. I have NEVER been introuble with the law and I don't have money to pay fines or lawyers. Someone Help!

He said They changed the laws recently and Men get alot of what women get. He said their is a women at his work on maternity leave right now and she is getting paid time off. Does that mean he can get paid time off? Or do you think it all depends on his job. He works for CAT so pretty big corp. I mean even if he doesnt get paid for it i think him being able to have that much time off is amazing! They really are trying to make us equal huh? What do you think?

What do you guys think? I think just because a person has a felony on there record they should in time be able to have the rights to bare arms. Lets say you were 18 and did something stupid like shop lifting and now 10 years down the road you have a family and good job. Your criminal days are over but you still cannot have any type weapon to protect your family. Now I say certain crimes you should not be able to posses any firearms like murder, rape, aggrivated assult with a deadly weapon, etc..... but not all felony convictions should keep you from protecting yourself especially after you have paid debt to society. Keeping felons from carrying weapons in my opinion does not stop crime!!!! There are people everyday without a felony that commit crimes with a weapon and it will never change! Give me your best opinion. God bless!
