Many jobs will require a 'whiz quiz' if the company is interested in you as an employee...it saves them from litigation later. If the timing of the test is a concern to you- maybe you have OTHER issues to deal with first.

Many employers require drug tests now; especially if you work directly with customers or drive a company vehile. They normally give you anywhere between a day or a week of warning. Some companies say they do random drug testing which can occur on any day and at any time and some companies will only drug test if you get hurt on the job (for insurance purposes). All of this really depends on the company and the line of work. If you do interview with a company then they will tell you if they do pre-drug testing screens (before they hire you) and the rules they have about future drug tests.
If you are worried about the drug testing, which you obviously are, you might want to consider getting your life in order before settling into a job. A decent/good paying job is much more rewarding than doing drugs for a quick and short high.
Good luck to you.
