I was just wondering what the difference is between the two. In Canada euthanasia is illegal, but palliative care is common in long term care facilities. When a patient is in the end stages of life morphine is given frequently, for comfort, but it speeds up the death process. Is this not considered euthanasia since the patient is not dying of natural causes?

I am form the wonderful South Australia where it would seem that people are more concerned about Robbery than offenses against children.
On the news tonight our premier cries out that he wants tougher laws on Armed robbery, two men got 8 years before they can get out on parole.
He says its a ridiculous sentence and has called for tougher from the judges or Parliament will step in.
Followed right after by A story on a man who was found to have thousands of images on his home computer of children being RAPED by adults.. it went on to say he was sorry and that really he wasn't a pedophile he was social phobic and didn't get out much..
We were told that his wife and two young children needed him and so his sentence should be lenient...
It was 2 years SUSPENDED sentence...

Am I the only one who thinks this is an outrage?
I don't intend to take away from the victims of armed robbery, it is an horrific thing
In my view it is FAR worse to abuse the trust of an innocent child.
Your Thoughts??

We all know that guns could be used for defense or murder. We know that other things could kill, most likely less but sometimes more effectively than guns; For example: knives, baseball bats, cars, chainsaws, etc. The difference is that guns have the intended purpose of effectively killing people. But is that "intended purpose" enough to justify prohibiting its use by anyone who freely wishes to use one or two?

I have read some articles regarding this matter that some countries push a law pass to the senate for the removal of Military service in their countries for they find it useless and just a waste of time in their son's or daughter's life, for them it is just a requirement with no fulfillment...any say?

This is a hard question to word so I am going to say the "man" is sent to Prison for killing the "woman"

If the man is convicted and spends time in prison and it is later found that the woman is alive, and the man goes back to court and is released, would it be illegal for the man to go and actually kill the woman? He was already convicted of the crime, and you can't be tried twice.

So, say you're making a turn @ 25mph and someone falls out of your passenger side door because the seatbelt was jammed in the door, and the passenger was 18 years of age or older.

Should the driver be held responsible for her injuries, and would the girl have a case to sue you with?

I live in Oregon, if anyone is familiar with the laws here.

In the heat of the moment while your boi is being jumped by the police you punch one in his jaw and then you get jumped. are there any laws were you would not be held resonsible for fighting back.? im looking for maybe supreme court cases with simular situations.

Managing committee of our co-operative housing society is harassing, threatening, torturing to compel me to sign the redevelopment agreement of our completely residential building which they want to make residence and commercial.
Please let us know can a single member object against the conversion of the building from purely residential building to residential and commercial. The commercial aspect will create lot of nuisance we had purchased the flat considering the purely residential feature of the building.
23 of the 24 members have agreed for the residential and commercial plan. However only me have objected from the same. If possible kindly provide with judgments regarding the same.

Our redevelopment procedure has many irregularities and is fully harmful and risky for my rights and interests as a member of the society

Imperial/El Centro area

We recently moved here from Ohio. One of the kids said that the drug dogs went through the school today and they found some marijuana in an unclaimed locker--I have no problems with the drug dogs going through and such.

He then proceeded to tell me that all of the 8th graders were made to take a drug test. Not sure what kind--he said breath, but maybe he meant saliva test. I have a problem with that, being forced to take a drug test without parental consent. I don't remember reading or signing any papers allowing the school to do drug tests. His grade he said, 7th, might be taking the tests tomorrow.

I was wondering if it was legal in California for the schools to have mandatory drug testing of their students--if it varies by school--etc.

Any info would be appreciated!

"If I were to try to read, much less answer, all the attacks made on me, this shop might as well be closed for any other business. I do the very best I know how - the very best I can; and I mean to keep doing so until the end. If the end brings me out all right, what's said against me won't amount to anything. If the end brings me out wrong, ten angels swearing I was right would make no difference." The Inner Life of Abraham Lincoln

Hi she is 17 and he is 20. Her mother does drugs and has 5 kids 3 of which she pawns off on everyone else and she doesn't have custody of them either (proven unfit mother). The father lives half out of state and refuses to pay child support. They live with her mother at the moment. The girls mother smokes and blowes it right in her daughters face and there is always a fight going on in the house of some kind. Is there anything they can do to get away from this mess. They both would not like to raise a child in this enviroment. They would like to get married but she doesn't turn 18 until after the child is born.
