so my lease is my worry because i dont want to live somewhere were i spent days with him and was abused
i moved out, if he stays longer than a month a jail i have to break the lease for both of us because we will be evicted and that would be worse than breaking lease, for some reason i feel sorry for him he doesnt have a place to go if we break the lease

I would break the lease now, If I were you. You are not responsible- he has made himself homeless. Are you going to let him stay there and maybe trash the apt. to get revenge on you for protecting yourself by calling the cops. He's out of control. You need to be away from him.

Inform the landlord you are moving out because of a domestic violence situation and that the landlord has two options -- allow the lease to continue in his name alone (getting you off the financial hook) or that you need to break the lease if the landlord won't.

Then, inform his lawyer to tell him of the lease situation -- the rest is up to him.

But you did the right thing leaving -- from the facts, the abuse would only get worse if you stayed.
