"If I were to try to read, much less answer, all the attacks made on me, this shop might as well be closed for any other business. I do the very best I know how - the very best I can; and I mean to keep doing so until the end. If the end brings me out all right, what's said against me won't amount to anything. If the end brings me out wrong, ten angels swearing I was right would make no difference." The Inner Life of Abraham Lincoln

The mainstream media, left-wing bloggers and Democrats would say he is an idiot.

If he said Democrats were great & wonderful they would say he doesn't know what he is talking about.

If he said the sun will rise tomorrow they would say he couldn't prove it.

If he said Congress had a lower approval rate than he does they would say he is a liar.

Get the point? Just like the quote you listed, it doesn't matter what he says. All the President can do is do his job to the best of his ability and not worry about the constant attacks. He was elected to lead and to protect & preserve our nation.

I think it would depend upon what he was talking about when he said it. In some cases it would be thought of as taking responsibility for his actions, under other circumstances it would indicate he was a weak president.

Gotta know the rest of the story before I can form an opinion.

Lincoln was a war president too. War presidents go through a lot of criticism because war is difficult.
