I want to be fair... not to mention legal. I live in the state of California, United States of America

Legally speaking... what hours do I owe this employee?

One of my employees and myself (as his supervisor) are working on a special project that requires travel to another branch location.I picked him up at his house this morning in a company vehicle at 5 AM. We traveled some ways away to another branch and arrived at 8 AM. We worked at that branch until 5 PM. He drove the company vehicle back to his home and arrived at 7:30 PM.

I'm doing his hourly time card. Which hours do I pay him for?

My 81 year old grandmother was involved in a car accident today where she was not at fault. An employee of a Toyota car dealership was in a marked company truck, and tboned her, totaling her car, braking her wrist, causing severe bruising, possible broken ribs, knee issues, and so on,not to mention she just had major back surgery a month ago, and her passenger, a 78 year old women suffered a dislocated collarbone and a broken hand which is going to require surgeon by a specialist. They are both in severe pain, and we are looking into sueing. The woman was definetly at fault, there were more than 5 witnesses who reported what they saw to the state trooper, so it's in the report. What kind of case would we have against Toyota, if one at all? I mean there is pain & suffering, medical bills, and the car that was totaled is a 2004 Lincoln Towncar Ultimate with only 16,000 miles, which is valued at $24,000 on Kelley Blue Book. Any answers would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Ok im not a women or a gay man but i do understand the certain hardships they are going through. And i cant spell for my life.
The president of the United States of America has no right to ban gay marige. thats like saying u cant go out after dark. theres no problem with gay marige. and i know allot of people in this country are ignorant espesially the church. and i know they command allot of respect. but even the church isnt so holy anymore. (some priests + boys = bad news) not every priest is a perv. the idea of a god is nice, it gives people hope and something to live for. however there are side effects.
Abortions, no matter how you feel about the subject is erelevant. theres nothing in the constitution or the bill of rights that states abortions are illegal. so if you are pro life shut it. theres nothing you can do. if a woman wants to get an abortion so be it. its her damn choice, live with it. just like i have to live with traffic, its never going to go away.

Let's say a tenant rents an apartment with his wife, and they had a joint bank account. However, a couple of years later, the husband can't afford to pay the rental payments. Would the wife be responsible instead? Any sort of help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Its such a long story as to why he just started this after working for him for just over a year. Basicly .....he had me working extra to remodel his new office. removeing carpet ,stripping and refinishing a 50 + year old fireplace mantle ,2 door frames, and 2 window seals. Sometimes he kept me there for 15 hours a day. Not only did I have to do all that, I also had to do his grocery shopping ,(his housekeeper had a heart attack ( go figure) running him all over town ( lowes, ollies, furniture stores,cleaners,............AND using my car !! And never offering me gas money. Having to borrow money for gas from my mom, $75 one week ! Between 40 - $75 weekly to run him around . I worked an extra 98 hours in 5 weeks on top of my 15 I normaly work cleaning the church, which I had to fit in.
He knrw I was working all these hours, but when it came down to paying me he took a fit and yelled at me for taking too long to do the room ! So now im on the hit list. No respect , everything i do is wrong

In Texas the illegal alien Mexican is a more immediate and direct threat to our health, wealth and security. We are paying high taxes in the form of school tax, hospital and most are driving with no insurance and no drivers license.

We have a nation without borders bringing in illegal immigrants with strains of disease that are not curable. America seems to be like a slow train wreck that we're all witnessing. It's amazing to me how the ACLU and all these other liberal laws have tied the hands of law enforcement to get the job done.

Men & ladies share same toilet in our temporary office. I, a black man, forgot to close the door twice while brushing my teeth. Incidentally a lady boss ( a director) opened the door to use it. She felt embarassed about this. She however threatened to fire me from my job because of the incidents.

Is this fair?

I am divorced.
I owe the phone company some money from when we lived in our house.
I dont live there any more.
He says that the phone company wont hook up his phone until I pay my bill.
He was not on my account.
Yesterday I found out he went ahead and payed my bill and now says that if I dont pay him the money he will sue me.

I dont understand how he can sue me when the divorce papers didnt say I would pay the bill, I didnt ask him to pay the bill and I didnt even know he was doing it.

I was going to pay it, but food and shelter come first at the moment.

I told a guy that I was not working for him in his transportation business because he wouldn't pay my friend. I told him not to expect to get any more business from me pulling strings at the hospital I work at. I told him I would file legal stuff if he didn't pay my friend. The next morning he finally paid her. He then went to the hospital where I work and met with my employer and showed them the e-mail. That was personal and not related to my job at the hospital. He claimed I told him that he wasn't allowed at the hospital. They tried to tell I that I meant to stay away from me. I had told him the day before if he went to the hospital with this like he was threatening, that I would file harassment charges. I said "try me." He went anyways. Can I sue for defamation of character? I am a professional and this affects my job and character. I'm also filing harassment charges in magistrate court. He told lies about what I had said. This guy is very rude and crazy.

Prostitution in Idaho is a crime, but he was accused of solicitation: http://www3.state.id.us/cgi-bin/newidst?sctid=180200001.K
Is too vague saying that if you ask someone to commit a crime then that is illegal, but being gay and asking for sex isn’t illegal only PAYING for sex and no money was shown or discussed.

According to http://www3.state.id.us/cgi-bin/newidst?sctid=180560013.K sexual contact in a public place is illegal, but sexual contact wasn’t made, feet aren’t a sex organ.

ok so we had no car and a guy(our landlord) offered to help. He sold us a car for 3,600. we paid him weekly for the car and rent with cash no recipt.(BIG MISTAKE) We have been paid up in full for around 4 months and everytime we asked for our title he would come up with an excuse. I know he said he had to release a lean??????? I have an idea but I am confused. Then he said that the title should of been mailed to us a year ago... Well here comes the problem we recently moved out of the house due to him just being an ***.....he called because he thinks that we still owe him money for rent. We told him we didnt so he says he is going to take it from the car and then repo our car.. Remember there is nothing in writing is all mouth to mouth. Rent car all of it!!! The registration is in our name but that it. What do I do. ???? I know that rent and car are seperate things. I also know that we were blind and stupid...live and learn...right?

We have an elderly woman living above us. I consider her to be abandoned, even though her daughter visits once in a while. Our neighbor is blind, cannot hear, and she can barely walk.
Recently she left hot water running and left the apartment. At the end of the day the fire alarm went off from the steam. She thought that the fire alarm was a noise in her hearing aid. She did not want to let us in to fix the situation. Two days ago she had her gas on, and she did not notice the smell. One of the residents said that in winter time, she has her gas running to warm up the apartment.
I am really concerned about our own safety, especially now, when we are expecting a child. In a case of a fire, I won't be able to jump out the window as fast as I could before. The landlord knows the situation. No one seems to care. Are there any social services that can help us? Or can we legally request to move to another apartment based on our safety concerns?

I met this guy while me and my husband were looking at a house he had for rent. He owns a transportation business. He had asked me if I wanted some extra money by driving for him. I said sure. He never called me. During the summer I had surgery. He finally called. I told him that I was in no condition to work. So I got better. I work in the ICU at my hospital. I got him one or two patients to transport. Every time he called me to work, I was already working that day at the hospital. I reccommended a friend from church. She took one trip for him. He also contracted her to paint his rental house. He was very slow about paying her. Last week he had her take a 17 hour trip for him. My pastor went with her because of the distance. He kept delaying paying her. I got an e-mail from his co-worker yesterday asking if I could work. I sent one back to the owner saying "I will not work for you" and told him if he didn't pay my friend we would pursue legal action.

My grandmother died and put it in her will that her lawyer who is trustee of her Estate should give me money from it 'at his discretion'.
The problem is my grandmother trusted this lawyer and he is the biggest scumball whomever lived.
I was supposed to receive three boxes from her estate an disntead her had them valued and sold at auction.
Ive seen him ignore several of her verbal wishes already.
He is refusing to give me ANY money from her estate.
I took care of her only daughter and grew up abused by my mother.
So my Grandmother took pity and wanted me to be provdided for when I needed it after her death.
What should I do about this lawyer refusing to give me any money form the trust ?
