my four year old's father, ramiro, is refusing to pay child support for our son. he is married, and was married at the time of our son's conception. i was also legally married at that time. he gave me voluntary child support, 200 dollars a month, for about a year only. i recently filed with the illinois dept. of human services to have his wages garnished, but when his wife received the notification papers in the mail she contacted an attourney, who just happens to be her older brother, and she in turn called me and told me that i am wasting my time because supposedly the law is that if you were legally married at the child's conception that the person that you were legally married to is the one responsible for the child, even though that is not his biological father...i am so confused! it is not fair that he will not pay child support for his son! if i was better off finacially, i'd be able to hire a lawyer to represent me, but i cannot afford it...what are my rights? should i pursue?

I was just wondering if the college was legally responsible it happened in the dorm on an elevator and I pushed the elevator call button and no one responded while it was happening. It went to school court that was the end.

I agreed to rent a room from a woman on saturday. I paid her the depost on monday, after i was out of work. 36 hours after i gave her my deposit, my car breaks down and, ironically, is costing me the exact same amount at my move in expenses (400 for depost, 450 for first months rent.) She is saying she held the room for me for 4 days since she told me last friday that i could have the room. I told her at the time that I had other places to check out, so I wouldn't have my decision until sunday. I ended up accepting her offer on saturday. I paid her the depost on monday. I've only been under the landladyship for 36 hours and signed the lease 36 hours ago. She wants to hold $60 for the 4 days that she held the room for me. Is this legal?

In state of Montana, the sentence is 35 years without prole, I am searching to find a way to ask if it can be amended to with parole. I don't know where to start. My son has served almost 8 years, the trial, and sentenceing was considered to be a bit harsh by many. I as his mother would like to see that justice is served, and yet be just. I would like to see my son before I die, and be here to help him have a oppurtunity to have training, and counceling for a future. He is changeing for the good thru the years searved, many guards even think he should be given a chance. Where do I begin

i live next to a rented property (i own my own house), last tennants were brilliant, new couple that have moved in are neighbours from hell, not approachable at all, tv on with bass box realy loud untill midnight most nights, shouting and slamming doors.
car parking now is a nightmare as they have 2 cars and 2 bikes and have taken the space that i used to use out side the house. it seems that whoever gets home first gets that space leaving me to try and find somewhere else. ( i cant park outside my garage as there is no driveway and me parking there would prevent anyone from getting past).
i had an understanding with the last tennants that i had this space and they had the space behind outside the garages. this was never a problem.
ive tried to approach them about the issue and suggested a solution that was ammicable but they havent stuck to it..
what can i do cause this is begining to become realy stressfull.

I am 100% compliant. I have poassed the halfway mark. My judge said in court that the probation can be terminated by half or even less. My PO has said that she will motion for termination now. She said it months ago. She has not done it. Do I have a complaint. The problem my pO is havin g s that the judge graduated me from all obligation 6 months before half way. I reminded the PO tyhat she siad she would terminate me after I finished all the requirements. She said "I did not know the judgw would let you off. She is a liar. The judge would not do that unless she recommended it.
I expect to be terminate any day. Should I make waves.

I live in Pa. I am currently working for a company that is being bought out. I know we will be let go by our current employer and get a offer letter from the new one. My question, do I have to go with the new employer? Can I collect unemployment to find another job somewhere else, or do I have to go with the new company? Does anyone know anything about this?

something was on the news at break and a co worker stated that all felonies are the same and they stay on your record for life, some of the other workers and i disagree withthe level thing . surely someone who commits murder is not charged with the same class felony as someone who commits some lesser felony such as a financial crime felony. and what about the record for life thing? are there levels (classes?) thanx for any input.
