Before they deliver the papers to you, is there a place on-line or something?

well, you'd be separated and know what his intentions are first.

second, I dont believe you will receive notice until they deliver the papers to you, and there's no where on line you can find out.

Lots of jurisdictions have online registries. Try googling your county/state and family court registry. There should be a search option. Failing that you can attend at the local courthouse and speak to a clerk. He/She can search the registry and tell you if divorce papers have been filed.

Other than that...when you are served with a petition.

Only way I can think of is if he placed an ad in the newspaper or legal news stating that he will no longer be responsible for bills you make. This is common when a divorce is being filed for. Otherwise, you won't know until the papers arrive.

If they have filed, you can contact the divorce court clerks to find out. It is public record.
