You don't say what country or state you are in. In the US most states have a statute of limitations for filing suit in civil cases. Unfortunately, the time limit is usually one or two years. You may have waited too long.
I am sorry to hear about your tragic situation.

If you sue the college don't be upset when tuitions are raised.
This is what we would call a frivolous lawsuit. While I sympathize (my little sister was raped on campus) go after the a_shole who raped you but, don’t let a money grubbing lawyer goad you into hurting everyone else by making the college pay for something they had no control over.
I do agree with Jahpson, if they did nothing then yes, sue their pants off but, if it's just for "damages" don't do it. It is wrong.

This action should have been processed when it happened. 5 years is usually the longest you can go and be able to claim a crime. Statute of limitations may well be over.

"Sexually assaulted" is a big vague. Were you raped?, or fondled? were clothes removed? These things are relevant to your case I think. I'm sorry that happened to you, I hope you can sue the college. I think it might be too late though.

Yes you can. Does it mean you will win? No. Did you file charges with the regular police? If no then it might be harder.

If you reported it promptly, and the school did little, or nothing about it, you may have a case. Consult a real lawyer.

There is a statute of limitations to suits. Check your state's law to see if this applies in your case.
