My boyfriend has been told that he should be entitled to pay for taking time off to attend the hospital for my antenatal scan?? Is this true??

Not likely, maybe he can take a vacation day or something. You on the other hand will be entitled to pay for the hour or so that you will be gone from work.

It depends on his company, My hubbys company paid him for time off for our scans, but my friends hubby was told that he would loose his afternoons pay! The only way to know for sure is to get him to speak to his boss or the wages department at his company.

FMLA does not apply as you are not related. He may or may not have vacation available, however there is nothing that requires an employer to pay him to accompany you to medical appointments.

He is getting bad info. Even if he was eligible for FMLA he would not be paid for the time.
