I think women have fought long and hard for their freedoms to allow ageing male politicans and their self-righteous religious groups to start stripping them away.

However, it is not, nor should it ever be, a replacement for birth control and individual responsibility.

Most of the anti-abortion cries come from religious groups. Which is fine - everyone is entitled to an opinion. But that doesnt give you the right to try and force laws in that make everyone else follow your beliefs.

Also, if you take away a womans right to end a pregnancy if she chooses to, because of your belief as to when life begins, what is next?

There are groups who believe that cycle of life begins the moment of ejaculation. so they want the morning after pill outlawed. What follows?? A demand to end a woman's ability to buy birth control? Then what do we outlaw...male masturbation?

If you don't "believe" in abortion (which is ridiculous because it exists - how can you not "believe in it") then thats fine. DON'T EVER HAVE ONE.

But the leave those of us who dont share those beliefs alone, to make our own decisions.

EDIT : Itsjustme - at week 3 its an "embryo" and is beginning to develop "layers" from its dividing cells. At the end of the 3rd week, the still developing heart begins to beat.

you want an honest answer...definetley. I am one of those people who have never wanted children not EVER...but i did get pregnant and of course i thought about abortion and how easy life would stay if i didnt have a baby...but then i decided to have him..and since the day he was born i fall more in love with him and his changes everyday, although i will say this i use double protection since having him birth control and condoms...i am dead set on not having another, if i did get pregnant i don't think i would have it. I dont think theres anything wrong with it...but i dont think its ever right either.

I'm not going to sit here and dictate when a woman/girl can and can't have abortions, this is an individual's decision and should be left as such (although people who have more than one really need to evaluate themselves).

i say it's ok. It is a choice for the person who is going to get it. There is nothing wrong about it and the government shouldn't interfere with that choice. Roe vs. Wade!

The one thing I have never understood about abortion is the democrats stance on it.

Democrats are frimly against the death penalty, which humanely executes those convicted of violent and heinous murders...

But yet they are all for the killing of an innocent child who has never committed so much as a sin much less a crime.

Does not make sense at all.

Although, I can understand the opposition to the death penalty...capital punishment removes a Democratic constituent from this earth, and Dems can't support the removal of their constituents now can they?

It's about keeping the government's laws off of my body. My uterus does NOT belong to the state.

It is a decision between the individual and her physician.

A personal choice between a woman and her doctor. Should NEVER be a political point of interest. It's MEDICAL!

it depends on the woman. if she feels an abortion is the right choice, then that's good enough for me.

I think the only way it is okay is to save the life of the mother. The idea that it is a woman's personal choice is garbage. What about the baby's right to choose? If she didn't want the baby, then don't take part in actions that would cause you to get pregnant. Sorry, I am very passionate about this subject.

for me it's ok, in all cases... women don't do it for pleasure when she do it, it means that something's wrong so i prefere a woman who does it rather than she deserts the baby or she kills it,
