A couple have after fostering 28 children been rejected because they will not teach new ones about homosexuals. They are good Christians and the fostered kids have all done well in life. I am a christian and have homosexual friends but why should children have to be taught about it that young?. Is it any wonder we have the problems with some kids, we do not let them be children anymore.

My father passed away 2 weeks ago. His residence was NY, mine is NJ. I am the successor trustee, and primary beneficiary named in my father's revocable living trust, and the executor and only beneficiary in his small (pourover?) will. The trust says I will get 1/2, and 5 other relatives will get the other 1/2 divided into different percentages. The total trust is around $600,000.

Every article I can find from Google says you don't need probate. My father's banker made it sound so simple, all the funds will go into a new acct, and the Trust Dept will disburse the $ according to the trust. My father's lawyer says it is vital to get letters testamentary, trust executor letters and pay $8000 for probate and $12000 retainer to protect my interests, regarding estate taxes, irate relatives etc. I have a call in to another lawyer for a second opinion.

Professional opinions, please.

I was just wondering If it's legal to get sole custody of ur child, and still get child support from my ex.

I'm really tired of the mind games, the neglect and suffering that he is causeing to my children.

I thought to just seek sole custody, because whenever he comes around we argue about stupid things, such as clothes....He doesn't want my son to wear anything from his house over to my place, no toys are allowed from his place. That's just a small fraction of the BS I have to put up with. I've tried to talk things out with him...but he seems hell bent on us being at war.

On top of that...he never wants to see his son anyway. Only comes around to make him self look good every now and then. "Mind games".

My son is being used as a pawn in his pathetic world...I'm too ill to keep fighting over silly matters, further more I really need the most emotinally stable life style for my kid. " These fights Have got to stop" I know that they ever will!

About a month and a half ago I was contacted by someone for the Law Office of Christopher Renieri. The guy rattled off a case number and stressed that it was imperative that I call him immediately. I ignored him because there is no pending lawsuit that I am aware of in any state I've resided. A couple of days ago I received a second call. Has anyone else dealt with this company? Also how is it possible for him to have a case number when no paperwork has been filed?

In August I signed a contract with a Building Contractor to install a new roof, it is now the end of October and the work has yet to be done. The roof started leaking into the house 3 days ago and we called him and he still has not shown up to even put temporary tarps on the roof until the rain lets up. Is there anyway I can get out of this contract and hire someone that will actually do the work? He never even called to say why he didn't show up or when, we had to call him and it was excuse after excuse!
If it is not fixed soon we will have a lot of water damage.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I have to fill out paperwork, and they're asking if "the qualifiying person lived with me the entire year?" He is with me during the school week, and with his dad one night a week, and on weekends, but the TIME spent at each household is almost equal. How do I explain this in this "form letter" from the state of CA so that I still qualify?

details on what happened and why I want to contest my ticket. I was making a turn and out of no where a car going very fast appears right on my back I had to accelerate so that the car does not hit me. I was protecting my-self from getting into an accident by speeding up "defensive driving". But just my luck there was a cop right on the next side street. He was not looking and when the cop turns, he sees me slowing down. I was slowing down because I was out of danger and 2 there was a red light in front. He assumed I was speeding, and did not even see the car that was behind me because he went around me and speed away before the cop could see him. I am pretty sure he did not see what happened. At first he was going to let me off but then I said it was my girlfriends car and everything changed.

As my father is a registered firearms dealer, I have grown up around guns all my life. I am used to handling them, shooting them, and as such I know their power and limitations. I also know how to use them safely for competition shooting. I was granted a firearms liscence at the age of 14. Why then, do people assume that if I am familiar with weapons that I will go on a murderous rampage? As I have been taught the strict measures for handling firearms I am now much safer than I would have been otherwise. Surely this is a good thing? Would it not make sense to train all youngsters in this way, as I am convinced that this would greatly lower the number of violent crimes. People assume that knowledge of firearms automatically leads to violent crime, but as I have explained, the exact opposite effect occurs.

My adopted son's maternal grandmother is trying to get his birthmother to say she was coerced into the adoption. She's a control freak and an evil person.
My son's birthmom is 24. We have an open adoption and she sees my son every couple months. When she was pregnant, she sought out the adoption agency, she met my husband and I, she chose us, then she asked me to come to her doctor's appointments. She also asked me to be in the room whith her when my son was born. I only got involved as much as she asked me too. She seems very happy with the adoption but it still concerns me that her mom is trying to tell her to say she was coerced. I'm just trying to figure out what constitues coercion. If somebody could tell me, that would be great. We are supposed to formally adopt our son in a month. She's already terminated her rights.

I have a car that the bank is trying to repo. I am paying it off next month, but the bank sent the repo man out to get it and could not find me. They went to my neighbor's house at 10 pm, jumped the fence marked no trespassing and revealed to them the info they had on me in there file without my consent. Now i ask.... is this or isn't this not only breech of the peace by jumping my neighbor's fence and waking them up, but also a violation to the privacy act. By the way i did find out that they commited felony trespassing violations. I also found out that the bank is responsible for the actions of the repo man because they hired him. Any legal advise on this would help.

so if my parents pay more than 1/2 of my expenses i can be a dependant right? (im 16, living with both parents all my life)

What counts as living expenses? Everything? Does the money they put into my schooling count, even though i could just go to a public school? (ive went to a private school and was homeschooled)

Also when it says that im not a dependant if i pay more than 1/2 of my own stuff, does that also mean if im capable of paying my own stuff?

Like i could support myself, as in stay alive, with what im making (food and some cheap apartment) but i couldnt afford the type of schooling there giving me (and they give me everything else i need)

Ok when my roommate and I transferred to our new apartment the lady at the leasing office said that we would get a complimentary carpet cleaning on the old apartment. When I moved I recieved a letter stating a 275 dollar charge for the carpet. I went back to talk to the person who handles billing and she said the lady was wrong, and that isnt the case. Shouldnt my carpet cleaning be free reguardless because they leasing agent told us that?

I find it ridiculous that stealing music with P2P software isn't stopped.

Why doesn't the government prosecute more individuals for stealing music?

I use P2P to download songs I already own. Songs that you sometimes can't buy from the artist anymore, but I own a legal copy of them.

I see it as a slap to the face when people go downloading tons and tons of music off limewire and other P2P programs and sites, and not having a legal copy of those songs.

The government shouldn't invade our privacy, but it should uphold its laws!

And even moreso, why do people come onto Y!A and ask for advice on how to get stolen goods? What program is the best for "free music". Do they not realize that it isn't free? It's stealing.

I was sexually harassed (physically grabbed) by a male colleague over a month ago and my boss refuses to hold an investigation because of the cost of attorney fees. So far the accused has been walking around work with nothing more than a verbal warning. Now it has become a hostile work environment and my work is suffering because I try to avoid communication with him. I am his supervisor, and this is beginning to make ME look bad as a senior employee.

In my locker at school I had a sticker that said "I Love Sluts" (I got it from a band named after that on warped tour). No teachers ever said anything about it, most thought it was hillarious. My friends all thought it was funny, so did I.

My locker also used to pop out of the wall (lol) and last night the janitors were going around and screwing the lockers back in after school hours. They took my sticker! Are they allowed to do that? Doesn't that count as freedom of expression or something? I know it might be considered "offensive content", but at my school they say you can't WEAR clothing/accessories with offensive material. I sure wasn't wearing it around school.

Can they do that? I want my sticker back! I think I'm going to buy ten more and plaster them all over my locker... for next time :)
