I think it would be an invasion of privacy----just like asking for a valid, picture ID to be able to vote.
Yea, right! I'm being sarcastic.

I agree 100% , I see so many people at the grocery stores , buying food to trade for drugs , if you watch people you can see them get to their cars , and hold a bag or two of groceries out and hand it off to another car... I think it should also be required for those who collect dis ability checks as well , I know a guy who gets disabilty checks ( 1 grand a month) , and gives the SS/ disability money to the dealers , and works under the table to pay bills , I turned him in many times , but all they do is ask him if it is true , he says "NO" and that is the end of it ...the sad part is he did not work long enough to contribute much to SS maybe 4 or 5 years , of course he still works for cash yet he gets disability ??? How wrong is that ????

I cannot think of any drug habit that you could support with the amount paid on social assistance.
My main concern is whats next...you can't buy twinkies cause they aren't healthy?
A person will not learn to become self sufficient if you make every decision for them.
These people need to learn how to budget. If they blow their money on drugs...they will learn soon enough when they have no food.

Im all for regualting and efforting that tax payers money doesnt get collected by people who just sit back and do whatever while they live off others.
Draft a plan for it, cost, regulation, implementation and send it to a congress person.
Maybe it will catch on

I agree with you 100%. If you don't want to take the test don't apply. Just like a job.

I work in los angeles, there's some homeless guys that hang out on the corner. One is really a drinker, giving him welfare money is useless. I don't know what he does with the money he gets, he can't be spending it all on beer. What makes me mad is that the homeless wouldn't use the money to buy themselves clothes or food.

I think that the elderly, those with genuine medical disabilities and children should receive public assistance. To those who are not I think that it is not to much to require them to have a urine test.

it's a no-brainer...but just watch...others will post concerns about "why should their children should be punished". Odds are, if the parent is an unemployed drug user, the kids are suffering already!

I agree. It's not fair for tax-payers to have to pay to support someone's drug habits.

if you dont like the idea of a piss test, its very simple. dont go on welfare. if you have a problem with it you are probably doing something you should not be, oh yeah, thats probably why you are trying to get welfare
