We went to a familiar restaurant: me, my wife, my 9 year old daughter and 3 year old son. My kids both ordered a pineapple juice. When we were about to finish our meal, our daughter pointed out that her juice has a weird taste. Only then did we find out that they got cocktails with alcohol. By that time our son almost finished his drink. We went to the ER and he turned out to be healthy. Should we sue this restaurant?

Let's just say that someone was a victim and hasn't told anyone. You have no idea, but you sense that something is wrong. What are signs that he/she was raped? How can you prevent this from happening? Like a someone under the age of consent, for example. What would you do to make sure the people around you aren't watching you or something?

2 years ago when I was 14 I moved in with my Dad because my mom was abusive to me. I now live in the city and go to a private school, yet I am uncomfortable with both. I love my Dad, but I can't stand to live with him (strict rules, etc.) I have a job and an 18 year old brother that would be glad to live with me. Is emancipation the only way to go, or is there an easier way?

Child molesters and murderers are the same to me. The one's who survive child abuse have not been murdered physically because we walk and talk like everyone else but our abusers have killed us deep inside. We no longer are the same as we were before we were violated. We stop seing ourselves as whole because we are so disconnected from our very essence. Life becomes a constant reminder of what we are not and what was taken from us. We live in shame and fear that is unknown to anybody that sleeps safe every night. Regarless of who you are ,results are still the same, loss of the self. Your life will then be a journey of endless battles and if your lucky enough you mighy be reborn into a survivor who is stronger than ever but the cost is sometimes to high to pay. Maybe someday someone will breath life back into our empty souls and the sun will shine upon us. Maybe someday we will be free of our horrible memories. Let's stop these murderers and protect our children. If we dont who will?

how did 18 come to be the "legal" age to be an adult. is this most countries ?
i'm thinking maybe 14 to drive and 16 "legal" age to be an adult.
i'd hold 21 to drink though. 16 may sound young but these kids are smart and i think they could do great. i'm just wondering your thoughts.

Here is the situation: I got a service dog in Jan. I rent and the landlord didn't know anything about the laws. Well, anyway needless to say I had to gather up all the info etc. So, since then the manager and I DONT get along what so ever. I had the dog out today for a little bit and was talking with the neibhors when a gal came to look at an empty appartment. After she was done the manager came and told me that I can't take the dog outside around the complex what so ever because she doesn't want to explain my situation since there is a firm no dogs policy. Is there anything I can do about what she said about my dog not being allowed outside?

The regional government is expanding the main thoroughfare in front of a commercial property, therefore limiting access to the property. They will not allow vehicles to make a left turn into the property, or a left turn out. Although they claim safety to be a reason for this proposal, is this still an act of expropriation?

No land from the property affected will be taken.

On Thursday of last week I had to go to the doctor over some cysts that I have. While there they did a bunch of tests including STD's. Saturday I get a call, right before going to my fathers for a family reunion, and the doctor tells me I tested positive for gonorrhea. I immediately call my husband and start yelling at him asking who he's been with and he turned around and did the same thing. Turns out my test came back with 3 different results. Instead of saying there was a discrepency he just said I tested positive and there was no way the test was wrong. I asked to be retested and my husband was tested also. Turns out the test was wrong, but we didn't find this out until we both took antibiotics for the STD. I need to know if this is malpractice. The doctor handled himself horribly and instantly jumped to conclusions. I can't help but wonder how many others were told the same but didn't retest and divorced over the results.

My 8th grade history class is renacting the trial for the Boston Massacre. I'm a defense attorney for the British and this is my opening statement: (Also, please include any tips or suggestions about it. Thanks!)

Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, we are gathered here today for the trial of five honorable men-Captain Thomas Preston, Private Mathew Kilroy, Private High White, Private William Mullcoly, and Private James Hardigan.
This is a case of five innocent men wrongly and unjustly accused of murder for the incident that occurred on March 5, 1770. These men were acting out of self-defense and meant no harm whatsoever to the Boston citizens present at the incident. Self-defense is a vital part of the law of nature and one should not be considered a murderer if one defending their life accidentally kills an innocent bystander.
Imagine being in these men’s places. Guarding post by your captain’s commands while being pelted with various harmful objects such as ice, snowballs, and clubs. An angry mob of inimical barbarians surrounding you and your comrades, shouting offending insults and taunting you by daring you to fire. This mob becomes so violent that you fear for your life. Not only are you terrified, but you are confused as well. You do not know whether to stand your ground and risk your life or to fire like a thousand different voices are screaming for you to. This is the horrifying conflict these soldiers were faced with.
Today, you are going to hear a lot of testimonies and we ask you to listen with open and compassionate ears. And to hear these men as they testify while keeping in mind that they are just as human as you are. We will prove to you that these men are 100% innocent.

I'm doing a paper on rape and I feel that statutory rape is the most important type of rape to be tried in court, but I'm not saying that other types of rape aren't as important.

I was just wondering HOW these child rapists find their victims and what are ways to prevent this from happening to your child or yourself. What are the signs that a minor has been raped? Why do rapists do it?

And if you would, please add some web addresses to any statistics you know as of what gender the child rapists are and such. Thanks =]

When the topic "World Religions" came up in the cirriculum, my global teacher freshman year did more then teach us. He over stated his "opinion" as he liked to call it. He said there's no way religion can be real bc it originated from people like you and me. if religion isnt real that must mean no god? he said people are all brainwashed and stated 'facts' with good info to back it up. For example, he basically said how can "God" create the world and explained how theres no such thing with believable facts. If youre reading this im sure you probably dont believe in god eathier but thats besides the point! The point is that being in his class all year, this teacher not only changed my faith but he changed my perspective on life. He basically in 'nice terms' told us that we dwelled from evolution and just sprung up as people each with an individual personality. and people like you and I created religion to form a sense of control.
