I signed a contract with my employer in UK. The notice period clause

From employee - 2 month (when on client projects)
From employee - 1 month (when on non-client projects)
From employer - 1 month for up to 4 yrs of service thereafter 1 additional week for each yr

I am working in IT sector and most of the projects are client projects only.In this comp , all are client projects. When i signed, i assumed client project means working on client site but now they are saying that it means any client work. on client site or company office. Clause is ambiguous.

Also, i got a mail from HR where she mentioned about notice period and asked me to serve for 2 months because i am at client site. I replied that i am not at client site and working in comp office. I have forwarded that mail to my personal id for proof that clause is ambiguous

Also, if i give them 15 days notice and offer them money for rest of notice period is it ok? or do i need to be with comp for full one month?

my father-in-law who is a drug addict and has been to prison twice... once federal and once state showed up at my door in a drug induced rage and assaulted me. He was arrested and has been in jail for 3 days now but is supposed to see the judge today. I got a restraining order to protect myself in case he does get out. I dont know if he will get out or not. The police officer wanted to press felony on him because I have a serious heart condition and he is aware of my condition and was putting my life in danger assaulting me. But IF he gets out...... how long does the restraining order last and what happens if he breaks it?

Recently it seems several women that have killed their children are found innocent by reason of insanity. What do you think of this? Should depression or stress acquit you from murder charges? What if someone is having financial stress and murders a banker?

Okay, we have uped the car seat law to be 80 lbs and 8 years old now and we have the seat belt law where now you can get pulled over for it. But....

On saturday, I was driving down the road and saw a guy on a motorcycle with a thin child about 7 years old, she was waving with one hand and holding on with the other. (no she wasn't in a parade) they both had helments on.

With all these carseat laws, how can they allow a child ride on the back of a motorcylce where there is no seatbelt or child seat.

Now, I am not downing motorcylist. my point on this is how can they have such strict laws for a vehicle where your enclosed, as opposed to the letting a child on a motorcycle where they are completely exposed.

More murder-suicides from the lone-star state. I guess the death penalty isn't really a deterrant after all, is it?

I was recently married. This was an arranged marriage. I'm from the U.S. with Indian ancestry and my wife is from India. There is a 15 year difference in our ages. I have a difficult time dealing with her because she seems so stupid. Some people told me that she could be retarded. So I bought her a jigsaw puzzle for ages 10 to adult. She could not figure it out. She tried putting the wrong pieces together forcefully. I took her to a large cookout. She spent all her time talking and playing with young children and avoided adult contact. She can't manage her money. She cries easily. She can not speak any language very clearly. She is not coordinated enough to ride a bicycle, use a can opener or a paper stapler. She refers to me as father or papa. How difficult would it be to have this marriage annulled and what steps should I do next. The marriage has never been consumated in 18 months. How can I keep my sanity in the meantime?

In march i got a citation for shoplifting at the mall. Today i am going to juvenile court for it. I put the item in my pocket but never left the store. I didnt leave the store because i was thinking about putting it back but the lady already told me to give them back before i could put them back. It was a pair of earrings for $5.50 at Claires. Im only 14 and its my first shoplifting offense. But i do have an earlier offense for a bombthreat(stupid me i know). How bad do you think my punishment will be for shoplifting. Will i get probation? Community service? A fine?
and dont tell me i should have my hand chopped off because its not going to do anything for me

Hi all,

Could anybody give me the pointers about where to find the forms and procedures for "uncontested" or "peaceful" divorce in California?

If you happen to know the forms and procedures for NYC, please also kindly give us the pointers.

We are weighing between filing divorce in NYC or in California. Which place is easier and less costly?

We don't have properties or kids as we are freshly out of college. I guess we don't need an attorney.

Thanks!

Can I take lagal action against my part time employer for making me empty my pockets and letting them look for a missing ipod?? I have a part time job as a valet; there was an ipod that was stolen. My employer has no idea who took it but picked 5 guys and I out of the 30 other valets to search us. They told us you six are all friends so we need to search you. The rest of the valets they just checked in order of there last name. .I just feel that the way that they picked us out of the groups was not right, and also no where when I got hired did it state that they could search me and there are not signs stating this either….what do you think?

I work at the second largest outlet center in the world. During holidays, as large as the parking lot is, the hundreds of employees that work at the outlet center are required to park about 5 miles away at a train station. If we park at the outlet center, our cars are towed asap. We are, however, provided with buses that constantly pick us up and drop us off.

HOWEVER, the buses at times can get stuck in traffic for up to an hour, and we sometimes wait for about 30 minutes for a bus to pick us up. This is frustrating, especially when we have to sit in traffic again to drive home. A security guard watches our cars, but I often catch him or her sleeping.

Yes, I am happy to have a job that pays me decent, but it is frustrating to go through all of the inconvenience.

Is what the outlet center doing a violation of any type of workers rights?

Where can I find out more information?

I have this crazy neighbor who hates me even though I don't even speak to her. She threatens me and even tries to make a race issue out of it when she is pressed to find one thing that I have acutally done to her. I don't deal with her but I had to call the cops because she started throwing stuff at my car and now I heard her saying she was going to pretend my dog bit her. She even accused me of trying to steal her man which would make her race issue wrong but I have been married and living here for nearly 10 years now and never had a problem with anyone else if there was something going on we would just ask and compromise with others.

I just can't take it anymore and I don't want to move yet we need to save more for a down payment. My dog is dying and she hasn't even notices but yet we apparently torcure her with him even though he is never out with out a leash unless he is behind a six foot fence mostly with us with him other than five minutes or less to go to the bathroom.
