Spent some time in jail so wasn't working but my ex girlfriend is still looking for child support for those months. We have an arrangement that I was paying a small ammount per month but I just don't have the money to pay her.

I just moved into an apartment and someone is harrassing me they are knocking on my door, i let him in one time and he just wouldnt leave my apartment, even though this is rental property do i have the right to call the police and have him removed from the apartment in which i rent

I went shopping at a retail store today and felt the need to use a restroom. I went to the cashier and asked if they had a restroom, to which she told me that, they did have them near the fitting rooms and a fitting room attendant could open it for me. When i actually went there, the attendant there refused to let me into the restroom, saying the access was only for kids and pregnant woman. I went back to the casheir and told her about the situation. She didnt think it was right andd called the manager. When the manager was called, she told me that last week when they had let customers use the restroom, they ended up messing it up and since then the access was only for kids and pregnant woman. Needless to say, I wasnt allowed to use the restroom. Now is it legal to not allow access? Can the store manager actually make her own rules? I really want to complain about this behaviour, but do not know how to proceed. Any help is appreciated. Thanks a lot for taking the time to answer my ??.

Hi there. I own a small computer store in Illinois, and I did some work for a company.

I worked my butt off, pulling all-nighters, driving tired. That's beside the point though.

I'm wondering if there is any legal action I can take, and if so, how much, who should I talk to, etc, etc.

I have about 100 hours into this job, and probably somewhere around $400 in gas- and $200 in parts... it really burns me that they've done this- they just will not pay.

To add to the problem, my attorney is their attorney. Go figure.

Anyway, any advice is much obliged!

The Fifth and Fourteenth Amendments only prohibit discrimination by government bodies. They do not apply to private organizations. It is within the rights of private organizations to discriminate on the basis of gender, race, national origin and religion. What general limits, if any, would you impose on the discriminatory acts of private organizations?

Is it legal for a little girl to go door to door selling candy bars and ask for donations so she can go on a missions trip with her church? The church isnt involved with the donations, its something she wants to do on her own. She also wants to raise money with a bake sale and advertise it as donations for her trip. Is this ok?

I belong to a organisation and am on the committee, lately 1 member of the organisation has been insinuating that the committee have stolen funds. How is it that minors who work have taxes taken out of thier paychecks, yet do not have the right to vote? You could easily argue that they knew this when applying for a job, yet I believe that this basic ideal that we fought the Revolutionary war over should not be ignored.

My friend was arrested and the officers who did it were complete jerks! They slammed him into a car and then threatened to charge him for the dent it made. Then they slammed his chin into some concrete and they never read him his rights EVEN AFTER HE ASKED THEM TO. Is there anything he can do or can they seriously get away with all this??

We are trying to access his closed bank accounts as he took a large sum of money with him O/S. According to the bank, only his wife, who is O/S and uncooperative, can access his accounts. Is there any way around this so we can see what he did with this large sum of money prior to leaving the country?

(in australia) my sister and i had charges put on a man and we went to court for 3 years because they declared the first trial a mistrial and then the second trial ended with a deal that he pleaded guilty to my charges so my sister would drop hers (she just didnt want to go anymore)
we were underage then. i didnt claim any victims of crime because i felt guilty about my sister not being eligible because she had dropped her charges.
i read somewhere that you can apply for victims of crime until 7 years after or until the victim is 21 (i think)
my question is is there any way to claim now that it is over 7 years old and i am 22? or is there anything else i can do?

I did a big mistake! I had my purse stolen awhile ago. I had to close my checking account. Some how a one of my old check book was in my new check book box and I grab it and didn't relized it. I went on Feb 13 and got passports for my two girls and I with the old check book and didn't know I did that until the other checks I wrote got sent back to me saying it was close a week later. I can't seem to get a hold of anyone to correct it! I have call the number and email to them alot! I'm going to Europe in July! HELP!!!!!!!

A woman I know is having problems with another woman. this lady has even gone as far as to say she hopes my friends 5 week old baby dies. It is really hurting her. She is scared but doesn't know what she can do leagly. We live in texas...any help or knowledge of the laws and what action can be taked would be great.

I keep reading about how some American men kill or beat women and children getting away with very light sentences while the other "men" simply cry about it doing nothing. What makes American men so weak and soft? And how can one make a "man" out of an American male? Is this possible?

Michigan law states that a former employer cannot give any information to a perspective employer that could prevent someone from receiving employment. If that is the case, how can a company force an applicant to sign a waiver (to even be eligible for consideration) stating that they grant past employers the right to state positive and/or negative information (whatever it may be) and waive any rights to take legal action in the case of defamation of character or other damages due to refusal of employment based on that information?
If it’s against the law to prevent someone from obtaining a job and stating negative information, there is no way that it should be legal for a company to force applicants to sign a waiver to even be considered. In my case, I had a past employer that harassed me and provided false information about me while being employed (which I proved.) I’m worried that this person is continuing with it since I still haven’t found a job and have NEVER had any issues receiving employment before. My experience is outstanding and I’ve never heard anything negative from other past employers about my performance or personality.

Is there ANYTHING that I can do about this?

for example, a man was just sentenced to 240 years in prison for committing a hate crime. he's obviously not going to live past something like 120 years, so why was he sentenced to twice that amount?
