once you take possesoin of the premises it is legally yours from that piont till the time you leave it. In many states even the owner of the property needs your permission to enter the apartment. At no time can someone be in the apartment if you are not there unless they have a pressing need such as a pipe breaks or for maintanence of the property wich you must be informed of in advance and have the right to schedule for a time when you are their, unless, once again, pressing need kicks in for that broken pipe.

Yes if he is not your roommate and on the lease... if he will not leave call the police and have him arrested and / or escorted out and get a restraining order.
If he lives in the building notify the landlord that this person is harassing you and the landlord may be able to help..
Good Luck

Yes.

Have you asked the person to leave your apartment?

Is it the landlord?

If you are paying rent - you don't have to let anyone in. The landlord - depending on the situation he may be allowed to come in.

Of course you can call the police. If he came over uninvited and refuses to leave, call 'em to take him away. It doesn't mater if you are renting or not.

If he is not on the lease, you have the right to refuse him entry, and to call the police if he refuses to leave.

You can also file for a restraining order, if things get bad enough.
