I don't know an awful lot about it but from T.V, films etc, the charged person has to have someone on the outside pay the police or whoever a certain amount of money to make their bail. As far as i know money isn't exchanged in the UK - it's based on the person's immediate risk to society. Accurate? If so, why is money used in America? How is it fair that people have to rely on how wealthy their friends are for their freedom? A guilty murderer could have a millionaire best friend and be freed instantly, whilst an innocently accused guy could be on a $5000 sallary and not have anyone with enough money to free him. Fair?
