Ill make this quick. My school hired a latin teacher who taught us nothing while i was in latin one and two (this is over the span of two years). the school then fired him and replaced him with a new teacher. So in latin three i am failing the class. I asked the teacher if we could go back to the start. He said i could but i would also have to do the stuff he was teaching now. So in summary i never leared basic latin and was thrown into a class where latin one and two was covered in about a month. So do i have a chance??? (yes there are kids also passing...they suck) If you have any questions post them and i will give more details.

Now it seems women are put into a position of having to work to make a living, since it takes two incomes for a middle class standard of living. Kids are being neglected. I find myself wondering if the rise in autism is not related to there not being anyone at home the child can depend on.

If someone in your presence, started choking on food and because you did not intervene in any way, they choked to death.
Would you have commited a crime by not assisting them?.

There was a time when prisons were a self-sustaining institute. Prisoner had to work to pay for their keep. Then some bleeding hearts came along and said it was cruel and unusual treatment. I think not. The rest of us have to work for board and room. Why not put these people back to work so they don't have so much time to get into trouble?

This question was asked before but I had questions regarding some of the answers. Yes, it's dealing with identity theft. A doctors office needs to verify that they are seeing YOU. But now someone in that doctors office has your complete history along with a drivers license number and maybe even a credit card number. I've even heard that car dealerships are asking before you test drive so they can run a credit check on you. That will effect your credit score. Do we really want a copy of our drivers licenses floating around? So my question comes down to leagality. Is this legal? Is their a law pertaining to this.

I want to write an anonymous letter to the owner and tell him whats going on. What would you guys do- please don't tell me to mind my own business.

I don't know an awful lot about it but from T.V, films etc, the charged person has to have someone on the outside pay the police or whoever a certain amount of money to make their bail. As far as i know money isn't exchanged in the UK - it's based on the person's immediate risk to society. Accurate? If so, why is money used in America? How is it fair that people have to rely on how wealthy their friends are for their freedom? A guilty murderer could have a millionaire best friend and be freed instantly, whilst an innocently accused guy could be on a $5000 sallary and not have anyone with enough money to free him. Fair?

Is this true?

I don't think it's right for the government to decide the women have to see a picture of an ultrasound before they have an abortion. It's not right. One, why should MEN decide that? And two, why should the government have that power? If women weren't allowed to have abortions, newly born children be left in dumpsters or on the street to die. It's a horrible thought! What do you think?

I would appreciate everybody's help on this one. Is there anything in the federal or state (NY) law regarding employer's right to let you go if you're absent too often. I have a little child and will probably start a new job within a couple of months; I already have the questioning and strange looks at the current job. Can they let me go if I have to stay home with a sick child and how often is too often? I am not a rocket scientist :))) and I am certainly replaceable but still will they let me go? Isn't that discrimination?

The town of Hazelton, PA passed a law imposing fines on businesses and individuals employing/renting to/otherwise transacting business with ILLEGAL (undocumented for you PC'ers out there) immigrants. Said ILLEGAL immigrants employed the ACLU and filed a lawsuit with the argument (as I understand it) of immigration policy being the federal government's jurisdiction and local governments can't be mean and actually try to enforce laws designed to reduce the ILLEGAL practice of entering this country.

{Disregarding the peripheral arguments about crime and jobs and how they are trying to improve their lives} Should local governments be able to enact and ENFORCE laws to curttail ILLEGAL activities when the federal government falls down on the job?

As I have said in other answers on this topic- Does the immigration system need work? Yes.

I am dating an American and we are trying to make a decision whether it would make more sense for him to move here (Canada) or for me to move to the states. It just seems like such a complicated process unless we get married and then there is no guarantee that either of us could actually stay in either country if we go through all the hoops that the government wants us to go through. How are we supposed to be together.
