Sounds like a major scam to me. A lot of money scams come from Africa, Nigeria to be more precise.

It is a scam. The send you a check for $1,000, then you cash it and send them $900. Several weeks later your bank informs you that the check bounced and you owe them the $1000.
There are people who respond to these scammers and frame the phony checks as trophies.

It is possible for such arrangements to be legal. Just like any other type of legal debt collection.
These are almost certainly scams, likely to get your personal information for identity theft purposes.

They are fake money orders/cashiers checks. When you cash them, the bank will hold you responsible for the money they paid.

Its not real they want to just get a hold of your bank account info to tap it and you will never see any money let alone keep what you have now.

They will get yuor bank info and DRAIN your account..OR get your ID and get credit cards etc...DO NOT DO IT...
