why didnt you say anything while you were in his 'crappy' class?
i think you share a little blame, so no, you dont have a case.
i think if you truly care about your education you would have transfered or worked harder on your own.

If other kids who went through the same thing are passing just fine, then you might not have very good chances. Because how is it that those kids passed and you didn't? Is it because they studied and you didn't study as much as they did?
You reach a certain age in your education where you have to take accountability for your own learning. If your teacher isn't very good, then get a tutor, or study harder.
You are going to get crummy teachers here and there. That's life. The question is, are you going to let them bring you down? Or are you going to take your grade into your own hands by studying more like the passing kids did?
Knowledge is power. You should go the extra mile to learn all you can. The more you know, the less power OTHER people have on your life. Think about it.

Why not try some of the language tapes-like the Rosette Stone. A lot of different products on the market to help you catch up. Latin is hard. I took 2 semesters in college and feel that I know very little. You may know more than you think. Get some of those little phrase books too. They help a lot. Your school may have a language lab that you can hang out it. I personally think your best approach is to think of this as a challenge and dig in.

No, because the school took the proper steps by firing the old teacher.
And there was nothing stopping you from learning the basic Latin material on your own. The teacher isn't the sole party responsible for you learning the material. That's also on you.

No you can't successfully sue the school unless all, and I mean all, of your classmates are in the same boat and file a class action suit.
Hey, you young folks want minority hiring preference, don't bit*h about the results.

Talk to your parents and appeal to the school board first. But you could sue. Doesn't get your education back.

Yeah, I would say you have a chance, but make sure you have a good lawyer because the school will.
