If America is so hell bent on maintaining firearms "for protection" when are the incompetant and useless parents that allow their children easy access to the firearms they own ever going to be held as legally responsible for these acts as the minors who are the perpetrators.

Surely if a parent is not responsible for a weapon whose only purpose is to cause death then the parents have to be held as responsible as if they pulled the trigger themselves.

It would seem the constitution (even before it was watered down by the Patriot Bill) seemed to give everyone certain rights but doesnt mention a lot about responsibility!

What ever happened relating to partial birth abortion in the Supreme Court. I know that last year it made it to the Supreme Court, but I never heard what there decision was. Did I miss something or did they just cop out and sweep the issue under the rug somehow. I know that Congress and Bush made it illegal a couple years ago, but it was challanged and everything was waiting until the Supreme Court decided. Someone help me.

I just recently read on Yahoo News about the new dollar coins that had an error and was missing the "In God We Trust" line. How do you feel about these Godless Dollars? Should they include the line or exclude it?

I have had my checks stolen, my accounts EMPTIED, my identity stolen, AND my credit cards MAXED out by people I know. The government and the court system LETS THEM GO within 3 days because they aren't violent criminals. Here is my propostion. Instead of letting non-violent criminals go free because of lack of jail space......why don't we do a jailhouse draft? Anyone caught of a non-violent crime who doesn't do the time goes straight to the army? That would give them the training they needed to succeed in REAL LIFE without having to steal. It's no longer a free pass guys, what are you going to do with it? WHAT DO YOU THINK?

Once you file a lawsuit in small claims court, how can you drop it? Are you still liable for attorney’s fees if the case involves a contract where the person who brought the suit is responsible for paying the winner’s attorney’s fees?

simply what the title says. How old must you be to own a pocketknife with a 3" blade in California and in DC?

my reason for asking is because I live in California and I want to know if i am even legal to own my 3" blade pocket knife. and during Spring break, my Navy Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps Unit and I are going to Washington DC for an over break trip. I'll be keeping it in my secured luggage, not my carry on untl i get to DC.

Its not that I am expecting that someone is going attack me. its just my utility tool. I use the blades for things such as opening my mail and such. I have a bottle opener, cork screw, can opener, screw drivers, etc. I'm just one of those kids that just seems to have everything all the time.

I really like bongs. I think that they're really pretty and neat to look at. I don't personally smoke marijuana, but I more or less view them as pieces of artwork. But is it illegal to just simply own a bong?

We moved into a luxury apartment complex about 5 months ago and pay premium rent for what we thought to be a perfect apartment. Recently, a couple of violent neighbors vandalized 3 cars that were sitting outside, including mine. I witnessed them repeatedly kick one car, causing severe damage to the entire side of the car. They then kicked my car, which caused a dent, and kicked another tenant's car. We called the police, and they were arrested and charged with vandalism, menacing, and disorderly conduct. Upon arresting my neighbors, the police walked to my apartment to get the police reports. So now they know where we live and who called the police on them. We contacted the office about this, and they will not do anything about it. My family is scared that they will do something like this again, or worse. Legally, shouldn't they be forced to leave, or shouldn't we be able to move somewhere else and break our lease?

my sister just recently had a run in with dcs. in which she had left her child in the car for no more than five minutes. they wanted her to comply with what they had told her. She has called them and tryed to call them and keep in touch but she recently moved in with me and we live in a two bedroom house and they are staying on my floor. Which is unacceptable to dcs. So we dont know what to do because now they r calling her phone and wanting to know where she and the kids are at. She is working on getting her own place but doesnt want to call them and let them take her kids from her. what should we do because we know that she needs to comply but dont want her kids taken away just for living with me.

Being a long term tenant(4 years), while out of town for the night I came home to find my front window broken and I had been robbed. Even if i had renter's insurance which I didnt, wouldnt my landlords homeowner's insurance cover this? If I myself had broken the window under different circumstances I would take full reponsibilty but I had nothing to do with someone breaking the window.............my landlords made no attempt nor offer to fix it so the repair came out of my pocket can they do this?

I live in NC, and have filed papers through Child Support Enforcement for over a year, and even gave them his current address, but when I call the state he lives in, they say they have nothing on the case! It is now well over $40,000 that is owed. Is there any place else I can try that will not cost me? I'm too strapped to pay legal bills.
