Read the assignments, and take note of where this question is addressed.

We could help you with your homework when you run into a specific problem, but we will NOT do it for you.

That would be cheating.

It used to protect you, but since the neocons took over the government and used the Constitution for toilet paper, it doesn't any more. In particular, due process of law has been tossed in favor of presidential decrees declaring people to be "enemy combatants", in which case they can be held in jail indefinitely without habeas corpus, without access to legal assistance, without finding out who their accuser is, nor what evidence is being used to hold them. All of which violate your rights as defined in the Bill of Rights, Amendment #5. In addition, the laughably named PATRIOT Act violates your freedom of speech as guaranteed by Amendment #1. It allows the government to spy on your library records and prohibits libraries from informing you of same. This would tend to curtail people's use of the library, thus reducing the audience for authors, particularly of authors whose books might be deemed undesirable by govt. agencies. This is an impediment both to the authors' freedom to express themselves and your freedom to express yourself by reading their works. Finally, the NSA has been spying on Americans en-masse by using electronic eavesdropping methods. This has been applied to internet e-mails and telephone calls. The spying has been conducted without appropriate court supervision and is patently illegal under Amendment #4 and under the 1978 Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA).
