I probably should have explained better, the attorney is the other persons(a collection agency) they dropped the case because the bills were paid, they are now trying to collect court cost and attorney fees, the bill itself for the debt was about $500, I paid that off, the attorney fees/court cost they got so far around $2000, I think they are just trying to get money because I paid the original people instead if them,in either case its wrong and unreasonable, they wouldnt charge their client with a $2000 bill to collect a $500 bill, plus the attorney already works for the agency so I know he got paid already, any advice to beat these guys would be appreciated.

DID YOU PAY THE ATTORNEY IN ADVANCE?
DID YOU SIGN A CONTRACT? IF SO DID YOU READ IT?
I HIRED AN ATTORNEY, FOR A CASE SIGNED A CONTRACT IF THE CASE GETS DROPPED THEN HE HAD TO PAY ME BACK THE TRIAL FEES HOWEVER HE GETS TO KEEP HIS INITIAL FEES.

There are costs involved in any legal proceeding,
regardless if the case never "goes to court".
I don't know the entire situation but I would definitely
object to paying an attorney I neither requested nor
hired....now if he/she requested an attorney and one
was appointed for him/her, that might be a little different.
As for payment of court costs, this is generally ordered
by the court. Again, there are costs involved. If the case
was "settled" out of court, as opposed to being dropped,
then yes I would say that court costs had to be paid.
If settled out of court, there is a hint of guilt involved somewhere.

Of course. It was their action which brought all the attornies, the judge and all the court staff to court so in essence their actions caused other hearings to be postponed and took up the court's time. Pay it, suck it up and stay out of trouble in the future. There is no way to get around it.

This is unfair and basically blackmail. However the Dems will do anything to back lawyers because they are major contributors.
The situation you described is truly pathetic and unreasonable. I really hope someone can give you a positive, constructive answer. You should not have to have this follow you all your life.

A "case", meaning a criminal case, is brought by "The People", meaning all of us. If we drop that case, and it has cost the defendant anything, we, the people, should cover those costs. If not, then certainly the one time defendant has a civil case for damages against "We, The People". That's my feeling, anyway.
Did that make sense?

It depends on how long you had the attorny before the case was dropped. if you just got the attorny the day before, then no. But if it has been a couple of weeks then yeah due to the time they had put in to working with you.

All depends on what the court orders. If your lawyer told you a set fee before you hired them then you owe that fee

This replaced right into a criminal case against him, it is going to easily go away. not something that could be carried out approximately it anymore. The sufferer does not get into problem, neither is had to pay any form of expenditures simply by fact the defendant died. criminal prosecutions are carried out by using the State, the sufferer is by no potential charged something.
