I'm a convicted felon which to me makes this is a false statement. I was released in 1990 after doing my time and finished the 8yrs probation with a clean record thru them. Was lucky and started work at a old job and was there for 13 yrs before they sold out. Since then I find it hard to find any work cause of my record and the laws that keep me from being able to ever drive again. What little work is available in town I'm not qualified for and with no way to commute out of town work is almost impossible to find and hold on to. So What happen to my right to pursue happiness ?
They took away all my other rights but still I should be able to have the right to survive in this country. I thought by doing everything I needed to make a better life for myself would still be available to me but it seems that its not. I wonder at times why did they even let me out with no means of support to help me be able to make it in todays society. All this will do for some is make more repeat offenders.

and I've made an equal number of payments on the car, both of our names are on the registration, it's insured in my name, and I just found out that the other person has been driving with a suspended license, do I have any legal right to "re-possess" the car from him? He says I'm just security and that I'm not actually an owner.

Please note the following quote from a person who was testifying before congress over the firings of the 8 US Attorneys:

"Each of us was fully aware that we served at the pleasure of the president and that we could be removed for any, or no, reason," said Carol Lam of San Diego, in a joint statement for herself and other fired US attorneys who appeared before Senate and House Judiciary panels. "

I'm just a young girl minding my own business. The new rules of random stop and search in subways and buses...is this necessary?

The subway has thousands of entrances that terrorists can get thru with no detection. Does Bush think manning only a handful of entrances is going to stop a terrorist?

Soon the govt will have the right to stop me anytime anywhere to seach my bag for NO APPARENT REASON. I was just WALKING for godsake! What is this..Communist China?

MEANWHILE, MEXICAN AND CANADIAN BORDERS ARE WIDE OPEN!! WHO'S MANNING THE BORDERS?

The prosecution of Scooter Libby for obstruction of justice the outrage of the firing of 8 US attorneys by the Bush administration and the over hyping by the press of these events.

Clinton convicted for obstruction of justice no penalty, Sandy Berger for stealing documents from the national security office no penalty,
Clinton firing 93 US attorneys and independent counsel Ken Starr no outrage from the press. If the latter had Republicans by their name can anyone say with all honesty say the result would be the same? We seem to living in a nation with a serious double standard and I find it troubling.

details...it's about the various state cigarette tax...weather you smoke or not, if you are honest with yourself, you have to see the unfairness of this...i live in iowa, and they are raising the cigarette taxes another dollar per pack...this affects only about 20% of the population who smoke....believe me, taxes from cigarettes will level off soon, with the numbers of youths not starting to smoke on the rise, and older smokers dying off, then what will they tax to make up for it?....maybe gasoline, say a dollar more per gallon...all citizens should be in an uproar on the taxes being imposed on smokers, it is your fellow americans being screwed weather you like smoking or not...all americans should stick together and fight any tax increase...please don't agree with the increase because you don't smoke..ban smoking from every place except the smokers own home if you like, but don't agree to tax away a legal product simply because our politicians are to boring and dumb to find income..

I have a friend whos son went to court on a bad checks charge. Ok he went to court they called his name he said that he pleads guilty, but the thing is he is a habitual liar so therefor he told his mom that he did that and then when he left the court room he thought about his plea and he said he went back into the courtroom and told the judge that he was changing his plea to not guilty . Would a person be able to do that jus storm back into the courtroom unannouced and interrupt the judge who is talking to someone else and change their plea? The state is Alabama.

I am a conservative and I will defend conservative principle to the end. However, current situations relating to the administration, specifically abuses of the Patriot Act and misrepresentations before Congress regarding the firing of federal prosecutors appear to have brought about a blind defense of the administration by many. Conservatives claim to be for equal justice under the law for all and yet many now appear to be holding a partisan position which sounds to me like equal justice only for those we don't agree with.

To Conservatives, I am interested in honest opinions, but please do not post about what the Democrats or liberals do because 2 wrongs do not make a right. You either believe in justice or you don't.

To liberals, again the same standard applies. Please remember people like William Jefferson and Harry Reid and the lack of calls from Democrats for investigation of their potential misdeeds before posting all conservatives are bad.

I just read a question asked by "Just Poor" and was left sick to my stomach by the narrow minded and ignorant answers he recieved to his question!!!! It was in regards to the Blood Diamond Conflict going on in Africa.
One guy repsonded and said that Diamonds are a girls best friend and he would gladly buy them for his wife regardless of where they came from :Basically, It doesn't affect him so why should he concern himself!!!!!!!!!!! Obviously he doesn't understand the suffering and pain that is caused to thousands of innocent families by the rebels and gang wars in Africa as a result of the mining for these Diamonds!
There's plenty of other places around the world that sell diamonds that have no involvement in this conflict!!!! Surely it wouldn't be too much hassle to buy your wifes diamonds from one of these?????????
Anyway i'm just hoping that this man doesn't really understand the conflict and is just a little ignorant as apposed to being a cold hearted selfish little man......

it has been my belief since youth to one day kill any and every politition that serves this nation blindly or unjustly. people, this is your call to revolution. come together as the people. take the power from those who oppress. stand up for you and your family. take what is yours, what has been yours from the begining. stand for your rights as a human being and revolt agaist this government. take these opressors out at all cost. by opressor i mean bush and every other politition in your state and country. i have been given the right to say this and express these feelings by george washington and thomas jefferson themselves. this is not a joke. this is a call to arms to take back our country and to keep our country free for all people that want true freedom. bring us your tierd, your poor and your hungry. this is our country and no one, not even the government should be able to take this from us. you know that
