I am assuming that you are talking about a driving test ? In the UK there is no formal requirement to have lessons from a qualified instructor. The law in other European countries is different. In France for example you must have 9 hours of lessons with a qualified driving instructor.

My son took his practical test after only 6 lessons but it depends on the person at the end of the day.

You have no legal limit, because you could have just been taught by a family member, but make sure who ever is teaching you feels that you are ready, and make sure that you feel confident. You need to have passed the theory first as well, and when you call to book your test you may have to wait about two months anyway.

As long as you pass the test, it doesn't matter how many lessons you've had. You don't legally need to have any formal lessons.
By the way, there's no apostrophe in lessons, and its you're, not your.
