I just read a question asked by "Just Poor" and was left sick to my stomach by the narrow minded and ignorant answers he recieved to his question!!!! It was in regards to the Blood Diamond Conflict going on in Africa.
One guy repsonded and said that Diamonds are a girls best friend and he would gladly buy them for his wife regardless of where they came from :Basically, It doesn't affect him so why should he concern himself!!!!!!!!!!! Obviously he doesn't understand the suffering and pain that is caused to thousands of innocent families by the rebels and gang wars in Africa as a result of the mining for these Diamonds!
There's plenty of other places around the world that sell diamonds that have no involvement in this conflict!!!! Surely it wouldn't be too much hassle to buy your wifes diamonds from one of these?????????
Anyway i'm just hoping that this man doesn't really understand the conflict and is just a little ignorant as apposed to being a cold hearted selfish little man......

Naturally, blissful for the ignorant! Now, if you are NOT ignorant, and also have a good conscience, you will mentally suffer "for the sufferings of others," especially, if the sufferings are of a nature / type, which are, in circumstances, beyond your own direct control. But there are indirect methods, you can utilize, especially, through media, communities, fora at various appropriate levels, NGOs (non-government organizations), government organizations, and other "social tools." Do your bit, like you have just helped increase the awareness level, somewhat globally, if I might say so, through this forum. I am starring your question to highlight it further.

A man like this is to busy answering questions on yahoo answer then watching the news and knowing what is going on in the world. He just doesn't even understand the consequences for buying the diamond.
Sometimes i hate the answers I read on here but I also hate some of the questions. Why ask some of these things. Should you hate the ask-er or answer? The other day there was a question about throwing away a baby.. I got sick to my stomach was this person just trying to start something and get everyone thinking or is he serious...........

Ignorance would be bliss for that person because they wouldn't care to know the pain and suffering that aquired jewel has cost. It's called being unsensitive, and people like that are going to end up being ignorant about something that matters and get screwed eventually.

If it wasn't for a Hollywood film it would have no play at all. Much like the clothes on your back you bet someone out there earning less then minimum wage has their hands in the making process.
