A gorilla who turns up pregnant in a pen with males who have been neutered is given a DNA test to find out who the father is.

There are hundreds of unsolved crimes than can be solved with DNA tests but the victims of crimes are told that DNA tests are expensive and very time consumning. Also there are many innocent people in prison who would be proven innocent with a proper DNA test.

The real question...Is it fair to waste time and money running DNA tests on animals when the test could improve the quality of the American Justice System? Isn't there something wrong with this picture? Its as if the system doesn't want to catch the criminals.

According to Wikipedia
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emancipation_of_minors

"In most countries of the world, adolescents below the legal age of majority may be emancipated somehow: through marriage, economic self-sufficiency, educational degree/diploma or pregnancy."

So, if a minor can get emancipated through marriage, how do we reconcile this with the Statutory rape laws that forbid sex with a minor? Would somebody that had sex with a minor escape being convicted of Statutory rape by marrying the person he/she had sex with?

I'm from Michigan where Henry Ford is basically a hero. I just found out that Henry Ford did everything he could to rid the world of Jews. He supported Hitler and even received a medal from Hitler for his "work". He published a four-volume anti-Semetic work titled: "THE INTERNATIONAL JEW, THE WORLD'S FOREMOST PROBLEM".

I just can't believe it! I am absolutley disgusted!

I'm so glad I've never driven a Ford in my life.

Does anyone feel the same?

My understanding is that a person cannot collect statutory damages unless they have registered the copyright with the U.S. Copyright Office.

My guess is that a lot of photographers never bother to shell out the cash to register the pictures.

Even though the photographer owns an "unregistered copyright" on the pictures, he would not be allowed to collect damages.

Am I correct?

I have been accused of a crime I didn`t commit, I was scammed out of a great deal of money and paid all the monies back to people who invested with me by way of taking out a huge mortgage on my property. I have lost over 400k, plus my partner, my home, in fact everything! One investor is saying she didn`t have all her moeny back but I can prove she has and is in fact hugely in profit. Both my solicitor and the police have this proof of my innocence, but in my solicitors own words, "The barristers have decided to make some money out of this!" The people who conned me are still getting in touch and trying to get more money out of me. My solicitor is holding onto all the proof as I`m sure he wants it to go to trial as he will get a lot of money out of this - a trial will kill me, I have done nothing wrong other than be naieve! Please, can anyone tell me what I can do or who I can go to for help with this? I am at my wits end, I thought the law was fair, but it isn`t!

5 of us in the department have the same job title, but 1 of those five is not held to the strict new attendance policy because she is "considered" to be management. The rest of us are penalized. I don't think this is legal.

I have a disability and live in chronic pain. I am so frustrated by how those of us with 'unseen' problems are treated.

Most disabilities are NOT obvious. It seems people expect them to be; be in a wheelchair, or one's mobility so impared it's obvious; then they 'approve'. How arrogant! I have only so much activity I can tolerate a day, so I have to conserve this.

A person's medical condition is b/n them and their Dr. I get dirty looks when I park in the handicap space, and ugly comments. 'It doesn't look like anything's wrong with you!',or 'You don't look handicapped to me'.

I couldn't walk a year ago. After intense treatment, I get about with strict limitations.Though I still live in chronic pain, it's worse when walking. I didn't care about my apprearance and was very depressed.
I finally improved on this, and appear 'normal'.I guess I should appear on death's door to qualifty to park here. (I use my hc tag)
All due respect, most in w.c.'s aren't in pain, so curb access

Went to get my taxes done today. The preparer guy and I were talking about exemptions, etc. And I asked him about the National Security letters that the govt. can use under the Military Commissions Act to get information on people. He had NO CLUE at all about this. I told him, legally they could get my tax information. How could you not know this?

Anyway, what do you think about the Patriot Act, these letters and the abuses from this? Let's see if we can set a world's record for responses and educate people at the same time :).
