Proof such as:

How it is unconstitional
That it might not cost less than keeping someone in jail.

that kind of thing

I don't favor the death penalty--but I suspect my reasons are different from most peoples. For one thing, my objections aren't based on the idea that it is inherantly "wrong." There are some people around we would be better off without.

But--to me there are two practical objections. The first is that there isn't any evidence (based on studies that have been done) that capital punishment is a better deterrant than life in prison.

But the clincher--for me--is that our system of justice isn't perfect. That's not a criticism--just a statement of fact--mistakes are made, and with the best of intentions always will be. Which means that as long as we use the death penalty, some of those we execute will be innocent.

And that is not acceptable.

Arguments of the death penalty are opinion only. There are just as many fighting for it as against it. I am sure there have been innocents put to death but it pales in comparison to the number of guilty. Just as I am sure guilty have gone free but it doesn't compare to the number of innocent set free at trial.

After a person is executed most lawyers forget about the case so the truth may never be known. Another argument isn't the fact they are claiming the client is guilty but that the death penalty is inhumane. Personally I am for it, the evidence supporting it is compelling. The executed never commit another crime.

What sort of evidence are you looking for because most of this is part of a belief system some people have. Some people are for it, some are against it. You need to question your government why they would think it's wrong. Or, research a state that does not support the death penality. You can probably find out why. All I could tell you is my reasoning why I believe it would be wrong or not. That's just not evidential.

Edit: If it were unconstitutional, then there wouldn't be any death penalties. So, there is no evidence to support that unless it is brought forward to the Supreme Court.

Proof is a very bad word to use in this situation. Since the death penalty is mostly on what you feel is the right thing to do. There is no evidence for or against it. That would be like saying does anybody have any evidence that fetus's don't like having abortions.

There is no proof that the death penalty is wrong, but it is not right the way it is used now. IT is not a deterrent for those intending to commit crimes.

I say we need to conduct a mad minute and execute every prisoner on death row. Then it might be a deterrent for someone.

Hope that helps.

Other than Texas and Illinois executing an innocent man. No I don't have any proof.

By the way I'm por Death Penalty, I'm just anti-Texas.

I want a moratorium to fix the system, but I do respect those who are against it.

The usual arguments such as it is too big of a risk, it is not a good deterrent, it costs too much, etc. are actually good reasons to ban the death penalty.

The death penalty should not be banned. If you murder someone, you obviously go to jail but you still get to live. But if the jury decides on the death penalty for you, you must give up your own life in return. I think thats fair.

Lets say your son or daughter or sibling got killed. Would you want the murderer to be locked up for life or killed?

I don't have any evidence, but I believe that only god has that right and not mankind they should have no right to kill someone and use laws to get away with it! Two wrongs don't make a right! Life in prison for taken a life should be their conviction, not taken their life is right! Besides taken a life for a life is wrong, and not a good example, it only shows how the law murders people and can get away with it!!!

Sorry, but I don't have any evidence that it's wrong. It can be wrongly applied, and has been in the past, but DNA testing makes that impossible now. If you can show me one instance of someone who was executed and returned to kill again, then I'll agree it should be banned. As it stands now, the death penalty is the only tool we have to stop killers permanently.
