A gorilla who turns up pregnant in a pen with males who have been neutered is given a DNA test to find out who the father is.
There are hundreds of unsolved crimes than can be solved with DNA tests but the victims of crimes are told that DNA tests are expensive and very time consumning. Also there are many innocent people in prison who would be proven innocent with a proper DNA test.
The real question...Is it fair to waste time and money running DNA tests on animals when the test could improve the quality of the American Justice System? Isn't there something wrong with this picture? Its as if the system doesn't want to catch the criminals.

I think it is tax dollars that support animal research and some obscene grant was written to approve it.
Are you also implying that justice in America is only for those who can pay for it?
If we provide grants to zoos, why aren't we providing grants to the justice system?
