You've decided that you have to move to another country, that you can not live anywhere else but this country. In this country, the law states that killers and rapists etc are NOT bad people so they dont go to prison and they are treated with respect - loved for who they are and in some cases worshiped for their beauty.

Would this not make your skin crawl?; To be told that these bad people are treated with more respect than your average pet? Put in this situation, would you respect the law and treat these people like you would any other - not feel anxious around them or angry with people for the way they treat these people?

Now imagine that these people arent actually killers etc, they're women.
Or imagine that these people are black.
Or imagine these people are very very poor and you are from a upper class background.

Remember - where you're from these people are treated as convicts etc.

How would you feel & would you stand up for what you believe in or stand or not?

This is one of my questions for my online school:
During the Spring and Summer of 2004 the Supreme Court had a case brought to it about the Pledge of Allegiance which they refused to consider allowing the lower courts decision to stand about the Pledge. The Pledge was brought to court because some people believe it is violation of Church and State to have students in school recite it because of the phrase ‘under God” which is located in it. The lower court decision was that the Pledge was not unconstitutional or a violation of Church and State and the U.S. Supreme Court agreed with that decision. Our activity on the Pledge is not on the decision but on the words that we have all been saying for years. Using any resource you can tell us what the 11 parts of the Pledge mean:

I pledge allegiance?

to the flag?

of the United States?

of America?

and to the Republic?

for which it stands?

One nation, under God?

indivisible?

With Liberty?

and Justice?

for all?

Thanks!

I am a woman and I think men who pay child support for children later proven not to be theirs should receive compensation. Am I wrong?
A paternity test would establish paternity from the beginning and eliminate alot of hurt later on down the road.

I'm 8.5 months pregnant. The father wanted me to have an abortion when he found out, and I chose to keep the baby. He left me, and then came back for a very very brief period when I was about 3 months pregnant. I haven't spoken to him in 5 months now... and the last time I spoke to him he was screaming at me saying that he was going to "Come down on my ***" in court and take the baby away. Throughout my pregnancy I've tried to just forget it - I've been working and going to school full time - paying all medical bills by myself. But as the time gets closer, I'm becoming TERRIFIED. I mean, after the baby is here, my lawyer will be filing for child support, and I'm not even sure that it's worth it!! I'm terrified that he'll be able to get my child... his family is wealthy... How probable is this? What can I do? What can HE do? I would appreciate ANY advice.

Its tax time again and this year is a bit different than last. I have finacially been responsible for my 3 year grandson while his mother as a young mom lived with me until nov 2006. Is it morally right to claim both of them as dependents or should I let my daughter claim him while during 2006 she was in her last year of high school. I am feeling selfish, if i do this however being a single person my self I could really use it

Okay, I rent a room from this guy. He is never there, but he will just POP in without notice; he may be gone for a week, maybe a day.He is a neat freak and expects everything to look like a model home at all times. We can't even sit on the couch when he is home. Long story shortened he gave us a thirty day notice to move, claiming that he is selling the house. He said he needs to fix up things and get the place ready to sell. He gave a similar story to a roommate when he evicted her, claiming he needed room for the holiday's. I know he is lying to us and just wants his house back, but it is inconvienant to now need to move. I pay my rent every month and follow the rules. I feel he has no reason to evict me. Do I have any recourse against him? PLease help.

Who's opinion do you believe? If you don't care thats fine too. Everyone has a right to an opinion , even if it is to not give a dang.

A jury cleared two animal rights workers of animal cruelty charges Friday for euthanizing cats and dogs they took from shelters, but both were convicted of littering for dumping the carcasses in a trash bin.

"It's a disgrace," said Andrea Press, a member of Responsible Dog Owners of Eastern States. "PETA preaches to everybody not to hurt and kill animals. They just proved it's OK for them to do it. They're hypocrites."

"The important thing is the jury recognized they were never guilty of cruelty," PETA spokeswoman Kathy Guillermo said. "We're relieved, we're happy."

The animals were picked up from several shelters North Carolina. The pair testified they euthanized the animals in their van to relieve the animals' suffering. They said they disposed of the bodies in a garbage bin rather than drive them back to Virginia because the stench.
