I know that they are required to provide a 30 minute lunch after certain time frames I was just wondering if my employer changed their lunch time from 30 minutes to 45 minutes and I was hoping to remain on the 30 minutes.

Unless you're in a union that requires a longer lunch break or you're locked out of the building or whatever, I can't see any reason why you couldn't take a 30-minute lunch and just go back to your job. That's what I've done in the past.

Actually you are required by law to take a minimum 30 minute upaid lunch after working so many hours. Your employer could probably require you to take 45 minutes if they wanted to.

Take the extra 15 minutes unpaid. It equates to 1.25 hours every week. You'll be working for the rest of your life. What's an additional 15 minutes everyday to relax.

Employers anywhere can pretty much do any damned thing as they please. They will point out that you have the right to freedom of choice and can choose to live with their rules, or choose to leave and never come back.

Deal with it or go broke.
