Who do you go to when the small town is corrupt?

I have family that live in very rural area's and there is corruption in the law department, murder cover up, drug trafficing etc. Who does that get reported to? my family don't want to get involved even though they know it goes on because people disappear who talk and it ends up getting classified as a suicide....... what can they do????

contact the state bureau of investigation. If you can't get a hold of them, contact the FBI and they can direct you to where you need to go.

They have a few options.
1. Talk with the FBI or Attorney General
2. Move. (talk or don't talk)
3. Don't talk.

What action they choose is entirely up to them, and each has it's own risks. I personally would talk to the FBI AND the attorney general. But, that is what MY personal choice would be. Your family needs to consider what is best for THEM. Also, they may wish to speak from an attorney who is NOT from the area and not practicing in their area (somewhere else in the state) and get advice from the attorney.

I understand their predicament becuz their cause of feeling afraid & they need to protect their family, too, & not put a big X on their heads. Like the Erin Brochovich's story, takes big kahoona's -sp? (which she didn't have any but they were still bigger than some of the guys that turned their heads to it.)

I'd go to FBI and let them sort it out. Call a non regional office and let them relay it down to the locals.

if it is political as you say well you know who is doing this. .
anyway most towns are like this.Mostly happens around election time This is when all hell brakes lose ..
