A few places have brought back chain gangs for prisoners. How can this be legal in these days - it's like going back to slavery.

I know that if I had been told to do this when I was in jail I would have said no -surely nobody deserves to be humiliated like this?

If a man and a woman get the woman pregnate (either didn't use protection or the protection failed) and the woman does not want to be a parent, she can get an abortion and walk away.

If a man doesn't want to be a parent after conception, he is forced to pay child support for 18 years without an option to give up his child for adoption.

Explain to me how there is any equality whatsoever in this? (Note: this is a post-conception question)

My apt complex changed my carpet in July and told me they were going to charge me for it. I went in and the manager told me to write a letter stating that I would pay it and he'd put it in my folder along with my contract. Well I didnt. Then I went in a few days later asking for a bill with the exact amount and a signature so he couldnt screw me over (which he has done in the past) Well guess what? I never got a bill, so now its getting close to when I'm going to move out and I'm wondering if he can still bill me even though its been 6 months and I've never signed anything. Can he??

I am trying to find some information about consumer ethics, ie: what companies are morally wrong and without ethics so I can know who not to buy from, like Nescafe.

Anyone know any sites where I can begin my search?

I met a guy at a party and a few weeks later I invited him to hangout at my house. Now my video camera is gone and I'm about 95% sure that he stole it. I've torn my house apart searching for it and can't find it anywhere... I know that if I straight up ask him if he stole it, he'll surely say "No." I don't have any proof to catch him with. The only reasons I suspect he stole it are because I don't know him very well, I wasn't watching his every move, and he shared with me a story of how he stole from his friend. Sure, I could lie and say that I have cameras in my house and I caught him stealing it, but what if he didn't take it and it's really hiding somewhere in my house? Then I'll sound like a complete liar! I really don't know what to do. I barely know this guy, but I'll surely see him again... although probably not for a few weeks. I'm too upset over the whole situation to just forget about it. Any suggestions??? (besides the expected "don't bring strangers to your house")

Will You be supporting any Hate Crimes legislation that will penalize Faith Based beliefs of any kind? Laws have already been passed in Canada and Europe under the Eurpean Union Laws that criminalize Free Religious speech, regardless of denomination.

I'm renting an apartment for the semester of school, and the landlord is always posting notices to enter the unit. Sometimes it's for repair, or inspection, which is weird in itself because I've never said anything is broken. These notices have very long ranges on them too, like 2 weeks from 9am to 5 pm. Yesterday I came home and posted on my door was another Notice to enter, with the reason " to exhibit the dwelling unit to prospective tenants", the date says from Jan 22nd to Feb 12th from 9am to 6pm. So this means they could enter any of these days, whenever they feel like it. In my lease it says "landlord shall give resident reasonable notice of intent to enter". In my opinion this is not reasonable, and I'm uncomfortable with them just coming in here all the time when I'm not here, I know for a fact they have been in here at least 3 times. Do I have any rights to not allow them? This last notice is especially weird since my lease does not expire untill June.

How can someone claim black or white when born from mixed races? Is he playing the race card to get votes? If so, seems unethical to me. I believe people who are born from black and white parents and claim neither will push us more towards racial harmony.
