How can someone claim black or white when born from mixed races? Is he playing the race card to get votes? If so, seems unethical to me. I believe people who are born from black and white parents and claim neither will push us more towards racial harmony.

For those not reading the question fully. He claims to be black. This is not about a perception of black, but his statements as being black. Check out his website and see for yourself.

Obama isnt going up to people saying "Hello! I'm a Black man" No!! People look at him and see it.The rest of the world states he is a black man and focuses on it.Not him.So although he is mixed like me the world looks at him and does not acknowledge him as white, but part white. The world emphasizes on his incomplete whiteness and points out the blackness. So ask why do we see the part thats half black. Why are we not calling him the half white candidate instead?

He is still half black and by pressing the race card is far more legitimate in winning votes than mud slinging. I am pleased in canidates who woo voters on who they are, not what the other canidate is. There is to much mud slinging, its time to know who we are really voting for.
