In Florida, by filing a complaint initiating the action, then a private process server or sheriff's deputy can serve the complaint at the address of the defendant.

I don't think you should personally serve them, have a person over 18 deliver the documents to them and there is a form that both parties should sign that states the papers were indeed served. You can find most forms on line.
