just because the Supreme court says it is.The flag represents not only our nation, but our hope, our future, our unity, and our patriotism. If people want to protest something the government is doing they can do so with words or something else. Burning the flag is so hurtful and offensive to many Americans. I feel it shows ultimate hatred for our nation. So, should it be illegal to burn the flag or is it a valid form of speech.

I know a 21 year-old girl that has 2 kids and no job. She just sits on her butt and collects Welfare and gets free medical care. I think they should have a 2 year limit on people collecting Welfare if they are able-bodied and can easily go get a job. They basically get free schooling, daycare, housing (Section 8). I think they should be cut off after 2 years if they have not enrolled in school and have at LEAST a job with 20 hours a week while in school. I get so tired of seeing women on Welfare at Walmart that dress their kids in rags, and they have junk food, and cigarettes in their carts. I know not all women on Welfare are like that, but a majority of them are.

A former employer took some of my personal tools from my work station and put them into the service of the company. Upon being let-go from their service my property still "pressed" into service, made it known that I wanted my property and was told that I could regain it soon.
That was in early Nov., since then I have been in touch with my former leadman, the foreman/ plant manager and the owner himself.

I have been in contact, nither threatening or harrassing and am getting nowhere accept frustrated.

I either want my stuff or compensated for it, what else can I do?

Our managers have posted a calendar on a cork board which can be viewed by anyone within the company (visitors included). They want us to use it to track our time-off, as well as any hours worked extra in a day. So we put a V for vacation day, S for sick day, O for other time off, +# for hours over and -# for hours short. I don't mind giving this kind or information directly to my manager and/or human resources, but I don't feel it is anyone else's business when I take time off. Does anyone know the legality of this issue?

I asked the question about a consultant being asked for their SS# and was told its the law to 1099 someone who you pay over $600.00. If your attorney or a decorator (for your bussiness) does over $600.00 do you get there ss# and 1099 them?. Or if in ones business you go to the hair salon everyday to look good for your job you are paying over 600.00 in a year do you 1099 them. Or your attorney...you consult with him about your business...do you 1099 him. where is the difference? I don't understand this..

Catholic leaders in the UK say their adoption agencies will not place children with homosexual couples in defiance of new anti-discrimination laws.

They have threatened to close the agencies down and have been backed by the Church of England, which agrees that Christians should be exempt from rules which they say go against the teachings of the bible.

Should faith organisations be exempt from gay rights legislation?

Is the Catholic church guilty of blackmail in threatening to close its adoption agencies?
