In most states the legal age for emancipation is 16. You must prove to the courts that you are capable and responsible of taking care of yourself. The courts will require utility bills, lease contract, benk statemets, etc. Chances are you may be a legal adult by the time your proceedings finish though.Refer to your state's legal age for emancipation. If you are past 16, I would say it is a waste of time, resources and effort.

You are old enough to be emancipated, but usually need more of a reason than "i want to move out of my house hold".
You might want to consider talking to your guardian about your concerns and why you want to move out.

To be emancipated, you have to prove to the court that you can support yourself and have been doing so for a year.

The fact that you say "only 17" is encouraging.
You acknowledge that you are still young.
Unless you are in an abusive household, I would say no. Stay with your family and grow with them for a while.
Being a grownup is not all it's cracked up to be kiddo.
Enjoy your youth while you still have it.

it depends if you yourself feel ready. also, your parents would know best. How are you on holding your own responsibilities? That should also tell you something. Why rush out of a loving home where you don't have to worry about bills yet. Don't rush cause that's when a person then regrets!

18 is the "Age of Majority" for emancipation purposes in every American State--I think.
"Age of Consent" is something else, usually lower, and allows you to do "other" things.
