i was working for a company for 3 months and the guy who was training me started threatning me and sexually harassing me and was also starting to hit me so i told the shop foreman 6 times about the issue and the shop foreman said that he was just playing with me and dont worry about it but the guy would hit me and leave bruises on my and say he was gonna kill me if i got my certification to do the work for the company so i told the shop foreman again about this and nothing was done the guy kept on doing it finally i had enough i left and told the owner and shop foreman i quit they said that they wanted to talk so they came to my house and talked to me well the next day we scheldued a meeting with everyone and the owner said i was not there long enough he didnt believe me and the shop foreman said he never heard me report anything to him so i told them i quit well the shop foreman would not let me leave and kept pushing me around until finally i threw a fit and left what can be done ?

I agree with the above post, but will add a little. You can sue under Title VII for exactly what the above post said- not providing a safe work environment. In addition, there may be some sexual harassment liability, if you're willing publicly to go forward with such a claim against another man. In any event, you shouold talk to a lawyer; due to the nature of this case, a lawyer would most likely agree to take it on a contingency basis- that means you don't have to pay unless you win, and even in that case, he takes a portion of your winnings (usually between 33%-40%). Or, if you want to litigate this case Pro Se (by yourself), I would call the Federal District Court Clerk of the location of the employer. (E.g., if the employer is located in Northern NY, then it would be the Fed. District Court a for the Northern Dist of NY). The Court clerk could tell you how to proceed pro se, though admittedly, you would have your hands full because legal proceedings are unfamiliar terrain for even well-educated non-lawyers. I would go with a lawyer if possible. But strike while the iron's hot. And document all correspondence, written or oral, that transpired re your injury and take pictures of any injuries you sustained. use your common sense. What do you need to prove your case? get that stuff ready from now until the time you talk to a lawyer.

You have some very viable issues and while a few things come to mind I feel I could best serve your intrest in this way. First; get any and all medical evidence you may have. Get statements from anyone who has intimate knowlege. Definetely contact an attorney for further advise. To say anything more without knowing more and doing research would be assanign (sp). you appear to have a viable sexual harrassement case that needs the expertise of a good Civil Attorney. It doesn't matter how long you worked for the company. Did anyone over hear you tell your foreman. and did anyone see you get hit, or did you show anyone the bruises. But I would contact your attorney about this.

You can sue the company for not providing a safe work enviroment. Companies are suppose to take these things seriously.

You can also sue the guy who hit you for assualt.

Talk to a lawyer, theres alot you can do here.
