How long is it likely to take a magistrate to make a decision about custody? The hearing was on the 19th and I've just spoken with his assistant who said she doesn't have anything yet.
I'm optimistic of the outcome but naturally nervous. My ex does not take care of our 12 year old. His 70+ year old grandmother and his mother do. His mother is capable, but I AM HER MOTHER. In fact her father has done everything possible without being in direct violation of court ordered agreement to keep me from beign involved in her daily life. SHE told teh magistrate that he forced her to drive his full-sized pick up on county roads adn that the only food in their home is what I have bought and sent for her. The list goes on and on to things he's either done, including attempting to have information from teh school kept from me.
I am anxious to get her out of there!
The judge even told her some of the things he makes her do are illegal!

How much longer is it likely to be before we hear anything?

If it is illegal to do it in real life, then why do we as American citizens allow things that are illegal to be viewed by everyone no matter the age or mental circumstance? Children are allowed to watch TV, Internet and videos that are totally inappropriate and people who are mentally disadvantaged have no understanding that what they see on TV is not something appropriate for them to do. People can check out videos of hideous cruel acts of violence being done to another person yet when a person mimics those actions they are allowed so easily to view via the internet and different Medias, they could be imprisoned for misconduct.

Where does our responsibility concerning the fact that what we allow people to view and read, we are actually educating them how to do, come into play. Perhaps the right to free speech and free press is more to our detriment than to our good and we need to consider casting out old laws that no longer protect us and creating new laws that would truly help us free from the horror and bondage that many people see via the different Medias and then inflict on other people in real life because the idea was put into their minds from watching it.
As more and more people lose their moral reasoning through drug and alcohol abuse and as more and more victims of occult abuse and other sexual abuse situations split into different personalities doing hurtful and unkind things to other people; and as more and more people are being educated that life is just an illusion and that there is no good or evil and that whatever happens to someone is neither good or bad, it just is, our society will continue to breed more and more people willing to inflict pain and suffering on others thus creating more and more mentally disturbed individuals who then need the financial assistance of the state to live off because they are unable to work and function normally in society because of the traumatic abuse inflicted upon them. If all this insanity is allowed to continue it won’t be long before our hurtful acts have affected so many people in such negative ways that the majority of American citizens will be mentally dysfunctional. Who then would be in control the country?

The different Medias have desensitized most Americans to the point that the majority of Americans no longer view murder as being disrespectful or hurtful to another human being and most see no wrong in being deceitful. The different Medias have desensitized Americans to the point that we think it is funny to be abusive and throw and hit things. How many cartoons can a child even watch without being exposed to at least 100 acts of violence or negative feedback from one character to another portrayed to a person or an object?

Most people learn best from example, what kind of example do we as Americans want our children being raised around? Is there any wonder there is so much violence, road rage, gang fights etc. This violence is not being learned from a proper spanking to the clothed behind when a parent is correcting a child for a misdeed trying to teach them proper moral principles and behaviors to help them become honest, trustworthy, productive adults, it is being modeled by our negative Media characters! What responsibility do all those producers earning millions of dollars off the violence they project out to the American people have for the example they set?

I never registered my name as a dotcom. So, I went to a conference earlier this month and presented on some random topic. A guy calls my office today and asks if I'd be interested in blogging for his little consortium. (My partner took the call.) Oh, and by the way he owns the domain name of my name. He registered it today.

I have an extremely rare full name (one other person seems to have it based on searches I've done over the years). I don't want to tango with this guy. Should I have my lawyer handle this or do I have any other options really??

Any thoughts?

My friend in New Mexico found a laptop computer in a bag with all the wires and connections at a bus bench. She took it home and I told her she should report it to the police and they can give it to her if nobody claims it after a certain period of time. Is she breaking the law if she keeps it and uses it and doesn't report it to the police? There was some papers with a name on them in the bag but no phone number or address. My other friend's dad is a police officer but he said that in New Mexico there might not be a law that is called Theft by Conversion or Theft by finding. Can you tell us so I can tell my friend so she doesn't get into trouble?
Thanks

I own websites and I was wondering... if there is a very successful website out there (as a domain name like yahoo.com), but they do not have legal copyright, or legal trademark, can I trademark that name and domain name, and then once I've trademarked it, claim it as my own, and sue the original owners, for stealing my trademark?

Because I don't know if just registering a domain name entitles you to that trademarked name.

This may sound alittle nasty, or even evil, but is this possible?

I know I sound really stupid explaining this but please someone help. We were selling PS3's and we got an offer for $1050. The man who bought it sent a check for $3000. It looked ok so we deposited it at Bank of America and waited for it to clear. It did and I called the bank to make sure it was ok and nothing could happen with it (I had to cover everything). They said yes so I sent the return amount of $1950 which I understood was being picked up by the person receiving the PS3 and the extra $$ was for the shipper. A few days ago I looked at my bank account and they took $3000 from my account and I am now owing the bank $$. I talked to the local police, FBI, and the Internet crime department and they all don't want anything to do with it for different reasons. What do you recommed we do. I have a family to feed and now its very hard.

mistakes? Is it fair that the government uses our tax dollars to give to a person who has had a child in a unstable relationship? Shouldn't we just take the child out of such a terrible existence? After all, it is not the childrens' fault their parents mad bad decisions.

Is it fair that the government uses our tax dollars to support people who, because they dropped out of school, can't support themselves? Why should the stable citizens take responsibility for the unstable citizens? After all, it is not their fault someone chose to quit school at 16, get wasted on God knows what, and then realize they can live off of the hard work of others.

I opened a barclays bank account one year ago, on new years eve someone copied my details and stole all of the money. Whilst the fraud dept are dealing with this and the police, no one is returning my calls to let me know what is going on, also i have been left with no money. The bank have not yet returned my money, even though they do agree its fraud, also I am receiving invoices all the time for this dude whos used the account-should they not be doing something to be on to him?I have had to use a credit card (which did have a balance of zero)etc for financial support as i do not have family members, i was also in the process of buying my own home. Am i entitled to compensation and who do i get it from?
