I opened a barclays bank account one year ago, on new years eve someone copied my details and stole all of the money. Whilst the fraud dept are dealing with this and the police, no one is returning my calls to let me know what is going on, also i have been left with no money. The bank have not yet returned my money, even though they do agree its fraud, also I am receiving invoices all the time for this dude whos used the account-should they not be doing something to be on to him?I have had to use a credit card (which did have a balance of zero)etc for financial support as i do not have family members, i was also in the process of buying my own home. Am i entitled to compensation and who do i get it from?

The bank will refund your money if you have complied with your obligations regarding security. To get compensation you will have to sue the thief and the chances of getting money from that are likely to be slim
